Finally got the first round of 2020 in the books yesterday. Walked 9 with 14 clubs strapped to my back and felt great during and afterwards. Promising results: 6 pars, 2 doubles and a bogey rolling them everywhere because it was practice and conditions were crap.

 

The doubles came from flying 2 greens (OB once and bad positioning on the other), greens were fat plug aerated but still pitted pretty well. Overall a promising start to the year. Been focused on fitness over the winter and looks like I have gained some yardage through the bag so that’s exciting.

 

Wish I could make VE but I’ll be coaching lacrosse that morning. Hoping to make my Hive tournament debut in April and get a couple Sunday exhibition rounds in between now and then.

If I was playing this year, I would have tried to save a "hot guy" for this pricey tournament, but I don't know who is hot.

I probably would have been sitting on Rory, but when I think through the season, it seems like Im and Reed have played as well as anyone.

Based on last year and the fact that he's had like 5 straight top 5s, I think I'd take Rory.

Hopefully, we got a little more out in front of it than Italy, but who knows. There was an article in the Times the other day about how Italians like to break laws.

Rogan had an infectious disease specialist on who didn't like the idea of closing schools. His argument was twofold. . .one, kids don't seem to be getting sick from this (different ages can be affected by these things different). Two, he said -- IIRC -- that 38% of nurses have children and taking nurses away from work would be very problematic.

So, while it seems like "closing schools" doesn't have much downside, there is always a consequence/flip side.

With two MCs already my season is basically over so I'm tanking the 1Q. Russell Knox kept popping up in my DraftKings models, so I went with him. Also took him to win at 250-1 as well as Top 10/20 bets. After hitting on Hatton last week though, I'll be freerolling for a while on that front.

Yeah, I listened to the guy on Rogan and he made a lot of good points. I wasn't necessarily following this in relation to schools, but given that our current numbers mirror Italy's withOUT a widely available test, it's likely that US numbers are going to skyrocket in the next week.

My best guess is that by next week, my company will be sending all non-essential folks home to telecommute. Too much of a risk in an office environment with nothing but cubicles.

I actually looked hard at Cantlay and figured he would be too big of a pick. Would have taken him over Homa otherwise.

Homa has been sneaky under the radar recently. His last 5 starts are 9th/6th/14th/5th/24th.

I'm mostly LOL'ing at the fact that maybe four people will get this.

I went to the butcher last night to get short ribs, will be dropping in another batch of 48 hour short ribs in the sous vide tonight. Last time I did them I went with the Guinness/brown sugar glaze, going with a garlic and red wine reduction option this time. Will be pairing it with something called a smokehouse whiskey. Have not tried it yet but it turns out my instructors family also owns a distillery out near Creighton Farms.
