What is it about watching golf as labor day approaches? Is it that the days have started growing shorter and fall sports take hold. Its like an internal subconcious sports clock that makes viewing golf less interesting by the day.

Oof, thanks, lh. Fuhgedaboudit, this dinner,

 

4 Sausages, seared/browned, 3 sweet/one hot, cut into 16 pieces. Rigatoni cooked al dente with 2 tablespoons of salt in the water (thats key). Broccoli rabe, sauted in garlic and oil.

 

Throw the sausage back in the pan w/the rabe, fire it up, slightly reduce, then toss all in the pasta pot and mix it up.

 

Eat with some good italian bread and vino and you will think you are dead and in heaven ; )

 

Meantime, yeah, hopin TW gets on a roll. Think hes playin couple more times this year. But, its rollin into fooball season...

 

Bring on the whiskey, bring on the rye, Send those freshmen out for gin ; )

The way he just described it in that interview actually makes sense. Not sure about the whole .4 yards things but the face direction in relation to slope thing I get. His mind just thinks in a different way than most, or all golfers. I find it pretty interesting. It's the media that makes it annoying, not Bryson.

It's worth remembering that the whole "scientist golfer" thing is Bryson's brand. It's the thing that he promotes to distinguish himself from other golfers, and he's been playing it up for years. But, it's not real. He didn't graduate college, and he doesn't have much more physics training than many of the members of this forum. In fact, within the world of actual, professional physicists, he's under-educated. Within the golf world, he has less physics training and much less experience than Dave Pelz. In reality, Bryson is no more analytical than, say, Phil Mickelson, who can talk all day about the technical aspects of his game. I laud Dechambeau for building his brand, but that's all it is.

Equally nauseating is the crush they have on DeChambeau. He does things his way for sure but he isn't some sort of rocket scientist playing golf. Get over it.

Do you have proof of that? He majored in physics at SMU, but I can't find anything confirming that he completed more than one year.

I'm as guilty as the next person, it's just funny to me how subjective golf fandom is. Because every guy I just named has their boosters as well.
