My question is, why would anyone go with the Alta CB over the Tensei orange? The specs look the same on paper and they are the same cost..

All depends on the fit. For me who needs launch and more speed I could see choosing the Alta over the orange.

I have the G400 Max and it's pretty good to me. I'm on the fence with the design of the G410 Plus.

Sound doesn't bother me, hell back in the 90's I had a Yamaha Top Dog (Kevlar) that sounded like a 12 gauge shot gun ! All the birds would fly away when you centered one !

What I really dislike is the exposed channel and the screw holes with the system that does not use a locking track. They need to supply some light weight carbon fibre inserts to slam into those other holes. That looks cheap and will fill with crap.

Also what is the additional screw in the hosel area going behind the face ?

No lie adjustment, really ?

Do you take driver off the deck ? Not sure I follow with the need for weight plug insets ? I bought a new M3 driver this summer and it would still pass for new in over 20 rds.

Also the new hosel has 3 lie angle settings

Yep thanks the note of the lie adjustment. Good.

I will hit driver off the deck ~ No Rickie Fowler however !!

With one weight and three positions you end up with 2 open gaping plug holes in the channel area and it looks like something is missing, therefore supply some fillers for them or some self adjusting sliding hydraulic ram pistons !! It's like making a convertible by using an angle grinder to remove the roof of your car !

LST only comes in 14.5, just like the Stretch it replaced.

I’m pretty sure the stretch model(s) prior were 13*

I'll keep my G400 Max until I don't..... I watched 3 reviews and not one mentioned shaft options. Any information on that ?

https://ping.com/clu...ivers/g410-plus

Interesting that they finally stopped the up-charge for the Tour and After Market shafts. That's a Plus.

No pun intended.

The Cobra Fly Z Plus had an open hole on the sole when the weight was flipped. I don't recall it being an issue, and it was in a place more susceptible.

Ping says "Trajectory Tuning 2.0 in the G410 drivers utilizes a new lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions for influencing ball flight through loft (±1.5°) and lie adjustments, including up to 3° flatter than standard."

With the adjustments posted above and the fact that the adapter appears to be a single cog, can anybody tell me how they get it 3* flatter than standard ? Without that setting being present ?

Or why they even GO "flatter" ? Wouldn't flatter encourage shots to the fade side ? Seems to me most golfers need help to the "draw" side. :dntknw:

Good questions. With my G400 Max I feel like the toe is very much up. I'm 6'3" and my arms hang nearly straight down at address. If I tee up high and hover the club at takeaway I get better results than a low tee and driver on ground set-up / takeaway - which I tend to pull (heel wiping ground closing the face ?) but the high tee hover address gives me a super high ball flight (even at 9°). So I feel a flatter lie would help. Does 1,2,3° make that much difference ?

The Pro at the Driving Range I go to in Sydney hit them a fews ago and has ordered one. He also said the G400 range will continue ! I asked why does he think that .... and the Ping reps told him that it represents a different (lower !) price point offering !! $799 in Aussie $

Previous Ping lines always stay around for a while at lower price points. Nothing new.

I think 1 degree makes a difference in my irons, corrected my big iron draw to baby draw now. The drivers have gotten ridiculous in how toe up they sit on the floor.

PING drivers do seem to set up more upright than other OEMs.

Questions is...how would you know you're dialing in 3* FLAT when the guide doesn't quote numbers for "F" "F+" and "F-"?

When you are in flat mode, the + and - is the loft. Just like the reg. settings. ;)

Really? That would be good news. Spoke to my local store and he said the rep told them they dont want the fitting clubs out until Mar 7 release date which shocked me. Normally they want fitting before that and get preorders from those fittings.
