Mizuno 2019

I found the MP18 muscle backs to be more forgiving and almost as long as my Apex CF16 irons, but statements like this are golfer specific so they are largely meaningless. If you want to know what works use this website to make your list and then log time with all of them and find what is true for you.

Performance means nothing if you lack confidence in your equipment.

I don’t understand why so many people haven’t given the Tours a chance in a full set, they’re wayyyyy more forgiving than people may think, actually ranked more forgiving than the Apex CF16’s, the AP3 and the TM M4 irons.

irons arent a mystery, look at the cavity in back of head....more cavity more perimeter weighting, so it's not like someone can make shallow cavity and sprinkle fairy dust on it and make it easier than one that has bigger cavity......what each golfer needs, likes to see (or doesnt) is different story but just from a physics standpoint....

What you see is what you get, aside from tungsten inserts everything is right out in open for anyone to see......

Agree to some extent. The MP18 MBs are a lot more forgiving than anyone gives them credit for. Yes, you still need to put a good swing on them. I found them to be right up there with my MMC SC and my JPX 900s during testing last year but it is 100% confidence related. Over the course of round I feel as though I'll be better off with the cavities although testing on course/dry ball didn't support that. If you feel less confident you'll subconsciously not score as well I believe. Side by side, in isolation the MBs stand up to any iron out there in my opinion.

Why are they not marketing the new gear yet? Seems like a very slow rollout, which I know they are famous for. I plan on the new driver, but am very interested in the Jpx fli. Not sure if they are more of a hybrid, not sure of the lofts or adjustability. Jesus, give us a taste. Or at least leak a few more pictures.

I hope they have a thin top line like the forged but a super thin face that is crazy hot.......Perimeter weighting with a bunch weight toe side for forgiveness on toe misses. With boron the name of the game is thin forged faces that produce high ball speeds. I love this tech to get ball speed vs hollow body or foam filled because the iron still has that soft forged feel but with an oomph. I actually asked Vosh about this club(JPX 3,2and 1 iron)on his Sirius/XM show over a year ago.

Unpopular opinion but to me the mp-18 sc is more forgiving than the 919t. But then again, my miss is towards the heel and the 919 is focused on fixing toe strikes

Can you elaborate on this? I assume you’ve tried both. I recently got a mp 18 combo set as you can see in my signature. Can you speak about the turf interaction as well? I love the look of the mp line but if the 919T has something to offer I’m all in.

I had the 919 Tours for a quick minute before I went back to my Z785’s and I can assure you, they are way more forgiving than what they get credit for.

Tried the entire MP and JPX line extensively both on course and in our studio. According to Mizuno and from what i found as well, the JPX line excels at forgiveness when struck on the toe part. They did back in the 900 line and made it even better in the 919. However as someone who takes it on the heel from time to time and havent hit a toe shot as far back as I can remember, the more neutral weighted SC worked better.

I do like the 919 series as a whole and the HM Pro is probably gonna be a smash hit. Think Cally Apex but better feel and sound. Also a lot cheaper which is never a bad thing for a club ho. Im already excited for the MP-20 coming in september, might be able to know my 750/770 combo out of the bag finally

Really looking forward to seeing the driver in person and seeing how it stacks up against the others.

The only category it doesnt stack up in against Cally, TM etc is marketing. Tried both models in november and they are legit contenders for driver of the year. Add in a great line of shafts at no upcharge and this should be a must try for any serious buyer

Imo, stuff just trying them - if I pick up one, hit it 3 times and like it, it's going in the bag. I'm waiting to hit this to see between the G400 and it. Would love mizuno in everything down to wedges; just can't get my eyes away from RTX4. Marketing is no worries, means easier to pick up one because they aren't as popular ?
