Mizuno 2019

Recommended Posts

Looks nearly identical to the jpx fli hi. It’s not a hybrid, it’s a direct iron replacement with steel shafts, iron weight and iron length with hybrid looks and help. Love it. Had the fli hi from a few years back and it blended perfectly. Put a 3 hybrid in and my distance gaps are screwed, personally, as I hit hybrids further than an iron. Not this thing.

Someone said that the HM Pros are only 4-9 iron. This article mentions that there will be set-matching gap, sand, and lob wedges...at least we should find out in a week or so.

Browsing Mizuno Europe's website, I was surprised that it states that the Hot Metals cannot be bent for loft. If true, that is a slight turnoff.

Was kind of hoping for an 18* driving iron or Fli-Hi. No worries though, the 19* CLK will work.

I just got a CLK a few weeks ago and its very nice. Sounds/feels great and the adjustability is nice. Not a huge fan of the stock speeder shaft though.

The CLK looks like it's part of this new line, it was ahead of its time in Mizuno terms.

These new Fli His look stealth and really great! Like a all black version of the last JPX Fli with the wave tech added. Nice.

The HM Pros, are exactly what might be a nice 4 iron addition to my set of 919F's. Thanks for posting the early pics. First we have seen.

Great find!

I wasn't a 100% sure what I was looking at trying to figure out the pricing, they mention $209 an iron for the HM Pro (assume this is in Aussie dollars?), and so I think that makes these the same price as the regular HM (not at the price level of the Forged) per the following:

Just be aware of the HM lofts - you'll have to adjust the Forged set appropriately or you'll have a huge gap between the 4 & 5!

Thank you for this agreed and will have to test properly to fit in the bag due to the static lofts. I just like the idea of a compact HMPro in the 4iron for some tee balls.

More I stare at all this, the more I like the 919 forged lifts for the CLK hybrid and new fli hi integration. 19* 3h, 22* fli-hi 4 iron replacement, 15* 3 wood.

Have a fairway wood, a hybrid, and a fli hi between the irons and driver.

Maybe even 5-9 919 forged, 919 tour pitching wedge, then 52, 56, 60 wedges

I think the full 919 lineup shares wedges, definitely the case for sand and lob.

They made one wedge option that kinds fits okay for tour, forged, and Hot Metal, looks like it'll be the same for the Hot Metal Pro.

There are definitely some differences in the set wedges although maybe not in every part of the 919 lines.

Looks like the Tours stop at the PW, Forged stop at the GW, while HM goes all the way down to LW.

Specifically w/r/t GW's the forged GW is listed with 51 deg loft and 0.093 offset. While the HM has a GW listed with 50 deg loft and 0.114 offset.

I saw this as well. I emailed Mizuno through their USA website about it, and this is the response I got back: "All of our models can be adjusted in loft up to +/- 2 degrees without effecting the performance of the club."

This is true in my experience. I have a 900HM 4iron 2* flat and my club builder had no problem bending it. No turn off

That makes sense. Not the first time that a golf equipment website has incorrect information. Cheers!

Does anyone have any info if they are going to release a JPX hybrid line?

The JPX hybrids have been replaced by the CLK line.

This is true in my experience. I have a 900HM 4iron 2* flat and my club builder had no problem bending it. No turn off

Lie can be adjusted locally, but I believe loft changes need to be taken care of by Mizuno when ordered.

I'm curious to see the headcovers on th new woods. I'm assuming black and grey to match the new colorway of the bags for 2019?

Should have snapped a pic of the head cover to go along with the ones I had of the new woods and HM Pro's. They look great: black as already mentioned with a large number on the top. They'll blend perfectly with the CLK covers for those of us that have those as well. Definitely beats all the previous white versions.

Sound logic brotha! You are going to love that set up. I spoke with my club builder/fitter and we are going to go this way for 2019:

Driver ST190G turned to 10* with Atmos TS Blue 6S

3Metal ST190TS 15* with Atmos TS Blue 7S

This is where it gets interesting-

Driving Iron 919HM Pro turned to 19* with Accra Tour ZX Hybrid M4

Then strait into my set-

919F 4-9iron

PW 919T

SW/GP S18

CANT WAIT...come on Mizuno launch the new goods! Hard earned money here reserved for you...

For sure, thats the main concern. Luckily with 13 clubs in the bag, this leave one for the gap if its even an issue (CLK hybrid etc...).
