The "stock" shaft options are a bit weak in my opinion. No up charge options unless you go to someone like Will Peoples and basically pay retail for club AND the new shaft. I'll see how the Atmos TS Black pans out first, and if that sucks, I'll swap in my A'hina 60x or pick up a HZRDUS black

I agree that some up charge shafts would be nice for the sake of convenience. I disagree about the stock shafts being weak. I think they are decent if the whole atmos line is included.

As far as paying retail if other shafts are wanted, that’s what bst and eBay are for. Particularly with the driver coming in at 400, I think the value is pretty good overall.

Well said. Most brands offer the premium shafts with upcharges and the stock offerings are “made for” or “altered” variety from my experience.

Mizuno has always done a great job offering a nice range of premium shafts at no charge. The Mitsu Tensei line, KK, and the Atmos and Atmos TS range are strong for no upcharge.

Look at some of those retail prices for the shafts offered. I am looking forward to hitting the 3 Driver heads and then placing my orders

Anyone have any experience with the Atmos shafts? I have a SS of about 103-105 and I don’t have a place to get fit for Mizuno woods in town.

Lots of variables and I'm no expert, but I do have experience with the Atmos Black and I would say you are going to fall right in between a stiff and an x flex. You could go with an X if you prefer control over distance. My SS is very similar to yours and during testing with the Rogue SZ and Atmos Black 7X, I found this to be a very impressive combo. I had to be sure contact was solid or I would hit some that fell out of the sky due to not enough spin.

I sit at 105-108 swing speed and I found the Atmos Black 6s to be quite stout compared to my AD IZ 6s. I am not an aggressive swinger either. If you are more of a "hitter" at the 103-108 SS range, than I would say stiff or x stiff, you cant really go wrong you would just have to test it out. If you are more of a "swinger" at those speeds, stick with stiff.

I like golf. A lot.

Man that 105 is such an in betweener as I've been there for the last decade. The S gives you a little more lag and imo better distance. the X is usually not as long but easier to control if all things being equal. I've switched back and forth and happiest with S these days. Good Luck!

Anybody leaning one way or another for the St 190 or 190G? I am probably going for the 190 G because I need to dial in my spin more that the 190 will allow. I do like the simplicity of the 190 though. Still wrestling with the decision. I do think the ATMOS 6 Blue TS In stiff will be the shaft I will put in.

hit both at PGA demo day. Spent 40 min with one of the engineering team. The 190 st with the same shaft had a slightly different feel than the G head. Sure the tracks contributed to this. Was using Atmos 6s Blue the non TS version. Will be getting 190 st.

Went F9 as it checked all the boxes for me. Was interested in this offering as well and hope Mizuno knocks it out of the park with this series. Either F9 of ST190G but couldn't wait any longer as the F9 just killed it for me at a recent demo. I think ST190 and F9 will be the surprises of 2019. I do believe Cobra was fortunate/wise for releasing their product just before Cally, TM, Ping, and Miz. What a year for the Driver!

How was the spin comparison between the two?

For me the 190st had better ball speed and flight pattern. It was a better fit.

I am leaning towards the simplicity of the 190 with a Atmos TSBlack 6S Or Blue 6S. Of course gota hit it against the 190G and look at launch angle and spin. Once I get close it’s all about feel of the shaft through impact.

If your concerned with spin you could always crank the 190 down a degree in loft and try the Atmos Black vs the Blue. Other wise I’m sure the lower static loft of the 190G with the weights all the way up would give you more options even before shaft choice. In any event the waiting has me feeling like a kid a couple weeks before Christmas ?

That’s a bummer and looks like it’s going to be Tensei Blue 60S in the Driver and the Blue 70S in the glued 3 metal. It’s a shame no Blue 70S in either of the Atmos options...

I simply cannot do two different looks on graphics on the wood shafts no matter the performance.

I don't know I'd go by this list as the official offerings. They don't offer the TS black 7 in x flex? I'm sure that can't be right. We will find out on 2/1 for sure.

Exactly this. I live in NY so the golf season is short, but mid season when I am swinging it good, im almost always around the 108-110 mark and have been doing more pressure tournaments and SS goes up with adrenaline. I am swinging stiff not and have been for about 2 years (I was playing X stiff for about 2 years) and that thought always creeps into my head..."should I be swinging X still?!"

Good point, let’s see what they say 2/1.

Im choosing between the Tensei white 70s or atmos black 70s. Anyone hit both? I’ve hit the Tensei white. It was ok but was just a touch on the loose side.

Tensei White should feel softer in the butt section compared to ATMOS black.

I have the ATMOS black 7x in a Rogue SZ and it's too stiff for me. I was measured at 110 on Trackman and I would lose it right if not careful and I saw this in the last year I owned the driver. I tested it last year on a different simulator and it felt good to went for it but it never really worked out for me.

I am interested in the Pro White in 60x to see if it is a little easier to swing and maintain the same flight.

All the info for the new drivers & woods is up on the European site - pretty cool:

https://golf.mizunoe.../st190-drivers/

Amazed that only the TS Black shaft is shown for that line - I know I hit one with the TS Blue. What a bummer if you have to go at it on your own for the other TS shafts, but maybe that will change.

RB balls as well:
