Did you request for the logos to be down? Fowler does okay with his logos up. >:)

Tell him to call Taylormade with the order number. Or have the shop do it. They can tell you June 16th most likely.

I got mine yesterday evening. Logo up, S400 shafts. They have a very nice feel to them - you’ll know if you miss the sweet spot, but it’s not that small, and good strikes feel firm without being harsh, certainly not JDM soft, and not in a bad way either.

One thing I felt was nicer was the balance - the club feels very much like a single piece, compared to my other irons shafted with S300 AMT, KBS Tour, etc - as opposed to feeling like the club head is separate from the shaft. I haven’t lost much distance but I’m curious to find out if these are in TW spec

I did, and I was told it was TW spec. Haven’t put the PW on a loft and lie machine yet but if I’m hitting my 7i as far as I do with my MC501, these either are standard lofts, or they strike so well that I get the same distance even with higher lofts...

I suspect these aren’t TW lofts...

I’m definitely not hitting it as far as he does but I’m puring it more often than I do with my Srixon Pro 100 irons. And damn, they feel amazing.

I know it is not apples to apples, but I am curious to compare these to the King cobra MB irons that also have tungsten in them. The King cobra are a very small headed blade, but I found them very consistent and good feeling.

I have the Hi Toe in 54 and 58 as well, and a set of 54/58 in standard MG just arrived from RBG last night. For $65 a wedge, they were new - no plastic on grip, only head, and it looked like someone had buffed off a little bit of plastic from the sole, probably from a practice swing off carpet. No complaints from me there!

FWIW, 4 sets arrived in Dubai. All 3-PW. Two were picked up within an hour of reaching the shop (mine was one). Price was AED10850 (around 2.9k USD) for the 3-PW...

Not really, no. It’s still a silly amount of money, but I put in my time when I was younger, and made a ton of sacrifices, to have what I have today. I could ship a set in from the US but the shipping costs would offset some of the savings, and I’d have to put up with paranoia that the package would get damaged along the way.

That said, after some cashback offers from my payment provider, I ended up paying 2.6k. Still a ridonkulous number but after having a proper session at the range earlier, I can say these are pretty darn decent irons

Where are all the reviews guys? I've seen one person leave an in-depth review, but I was expecting more of you to come back in here and share your findings after having a few rounds under your belts.

I’ll post something this weekend. Had some range time with it yesterday evening and playing 2 rounds on Friday and Saturday.

Initial impressions - the S400 gives this club a nice balance I prefer the overall balance over that of my MC501 with S300 shafts. I haven’t lost much distance (7i - 165y) compared to my MC501, so I suspect these aren’t Tiger lofts. They have a nice meaty thud when struck dead center, and as someone else observed, there’s not much distance loss (maybe half to one club) on toe hits either. I’d say they feel somewhere between the 690MB (soft) and Cobra ProMB (firm), but certainly nowhere as butter as the Srixon Pro 100 or the MC501. Its not unpleasantly harsh - sort of like comparing a rubber mallet vs a hammer - the latter will give you a nice, solid, effective strike.

The faces mark surprisingly easily - my first strike left a ball mark on the face. It’s nice to know where the hit happened, and nicer that they do wipe off fairly easily as well.

Ball flight appears strong, and there’s a noticeable level of spin - the runout on my 7i is less compared to the MC501.

The TW irons are surprisingly forgiving and encourage a smooth swing, even down to the 3i. It took less than 10 minutes to transition from my 501 to these.

I’m not sure what else to report on. These irons will experience turf tomorrow and day after, so feel free to ask me anything about them in the meantime.

Now now...:) I personally find reviews from the members here basically the same over and over again. They are always the next coming, perfect trajectory, feel like butter, EASILY worked both ways, can hit all 3 TRAJ windows and Tiger's 9 shot shapes on command. Does that cover it? :) Keep in mind while you are reading said review there is a new set of irons listed in the members signature...

If only it worked that way for me. But I'll say this - if i had the funds for it, i'd seriously consider buying another set of these...."just in case"

All of this experienced by the average 11 handicapper, of course. ;)
