I saw a set of these for sale in person at a local golf shop. I couldn't believe they had one in the store (under display glass). Very gorgeous iron in person.

Make that another here... 2 rounds in so far and It is rare to have that perfect flush feel, but the results are still very good. I am consistently surprised by what feels like a marginal-contact-shot getting very close or even get to the yardage I was intending. Not complaining, but I would not put these in the "buttery" soft category.

Guys. Not to change topic. And I m certain that these are great irons. But “ blades are the boogey man “ hasnt been true since 1996 or so. It takes a release like this to get some guys try a set longer than 3 range shots. That’s the only difference.

Yes. Thought about that. But assumed they would have a price lock on them. Like ping etc. get caught selling under price and get your account pulled. Not the case for TM ?

What TM did was turn an above average seller into a must have set, by gambling Tiger would win. When these were first offered a few Tiger devotees pre ordered them early to middle March. Many stores that had allocations like 14 had pre sold 2-3 sets. After the Masters every set was spoken for by Monday at the latest. A couple of shops I asked Monday at opening had 3-7 sets unsold. By mid morning they were all reserved. Many of those shops still haven’t gotten anywhere near their first allotment and have displeased customers to say the least.

Yep. And it’s crazy to me that they were afraid to gamble a bit more on TW and good looking iron. They should have had more on hand.

 

This is the company that was able to sell “ rocketballz” and the idea that you needed to try to achieve a 17 degree launch angle and 1700 rpm with a driver fitting. Knowing full well those are nearly uncontrollable launch conditions. If you can sell those. Surely you could sell a set of irons with TW plastered on them ?

 

But. I guess it spits in the eye of the forgiveness marketing “ half truth” that they’ve sold for years. So hard to contradict that I guess.

 

Irks me to no end that a company who makes such great product , can also manage to turn me off soooo many times. Back to your point. My shop as of today. Still hasn’t got a set of these. And again they are the oldest account in upstate SC for sure. And likely in the running for oldest in the state( somebody in myrtle beach maybe by a nose ?). Green grass / outdoor trackman. The site of almost all of their big demo days in the upstate . A shop that has put a Golfsmith and a Edwin watts out of business in the last 5 years and in my opinion kept other big boxes from coming ( a good thing ) because of how strong their customer base is. This shop can’t get 1 set ?! Clearly means TM has prioritized these allocations to online orders direct orders first . Why ? Decreased liability. Shops can only complain internally. The direct buyer online can blast you everywhere. And it shows just how few sets they actually had on hand. In any other sales setting , selling that much more product than you have In stock without disclosing the delay accurately, would be borderline criminal.

 

Then we now see around 10% of the initial sets out there for sale in new condition. Loll. So TM catered to the flippers first. Then took way more orders than initially hinted at and screwed the flippers too. Lol. It’s awesome !
