Man I put the TZ5 in my F9 and its an insane combo. Its the first time I have ever had to add loft and move the heavy weight back.

Any chance you tried out the TZ6 head to head?

No unfortunately but I really want to. I think that TZ6 would be perfect.

I hit the TZ5 75 M5 this past weekend.

Already considered it mine .... Huge fan .... And it let me down! Not a fan! Bad!

.... Left with a HZRDUS Smoke Black 70g 6.5. Beat it hands down! No contest! Huge surprise!

Have an 80g Smoke Black en route for install hopefully next weekend! Stoked!

How and why did the shaft let you down? Too low spin and launch in the M5?

I have a TZ6 65 M4 if anyone is interested I’m in the UK by the way. I bought it blind for my G400 max as a replacement for my Tour ad TP7 as I saw they were similar but for me the TP7 is more suitable.

Too low spin. 1700-1800 spin.

Too low launch. 9-10° launch.

Weird feel.

With all that said. I didn't get to hit the TZ6.

Yea I’ve seen a lot of positives about the Smoke. That shaft was up there with me as one of my worst fits ever. Couldn’t find the clubface with the smoke at all. Hated the feel.

Honestly the TZ5 and Smoke are very different profiles.

Yea. That was quite the surprise. Never thought I would have left with a Smoke but it was clearly the winner of the day.

Hit the Drago 75 and 85 too. Smoke Black 70 beat those two out pretty easily too!

Cant wait to try the 80g Smoke in a Fairway!!

Got mine today! Pumped to give it a go sometime soon!

Did you compare with the TZ6?

I didn’t compare. I got a smoking deal as demo shaft from a guy I go to here locally for gear and this is what he got in.

He’s an ex tour worker and gets everything still and said that TZ5 is best for spin and launch reduction. That’s common knowledge, however.

Still deciding what head I want to put it in, so will be a little till I can provide feedback unfortunately.

Cobra F9, Accra TZ5 playing at 45, 106 SS, this thing is a 280-290 Machine. Finally got my spin (stem from a bad swing fault) down from appx 3200 to 2200 on avg on a 15 degree launch.

I’m playing it in the M5 flex 65G, extremely smooth, feels lively, as someone In between S / X it’s not boardy at all.

Best driver combo I’ve ever owned

Just received my TZ5 from JD’s Clubs (great experience), took it to the range today but will give a review after my trip to Bandon in a week. Initial impressions post-fitting is extremely stable without feeling too “boardy”. I saw a piercing flight, no knuckle balls and felt like the trajectory was right on since I seemed to get the occasional high traj spinner with my stock shaft. Again this is with range balls so take it for what it is. I’m sure I’m going to love this thing but we’ll see after I get it out on the course.

Coming from a Tour 75 stiff in my G400 LST

interesting. my ss is similar to yours, and i ordered a tz6 75 m4 for my f9. I hit up about 4 degrees though...the m5 in a tz5 just sounds too stiff for me, interesting to hear you don't think it is. I haven't hit the tz yet, I'm coming from a hzrdus yellow and va raijin.

I'll second the fact that the F9 with the TZ6 is a fantastic combo. Was able to get on a GCQuad this past weekend and put this thing up against my Epic SZ 9* w/ Atmos Black TS 7x untipped. I wanted something a little more lively and loadable and was in search of more ball speed than the Atmos offered. While that combo has been long and straight for me, ironically I still struggled with very high launch 15-18* on average which was manageable given spin in the 2000-2400 range consistently on good strikes. I got almost no roll with this combo, and my low heel miss still produced some nasty cut spinny shots without fail

My swing speed is in the 108-110mph range, AoA +4-7 degrees

With my Epic SZ/Atmos Black combo my ball speeds were typically in the 155-6 mph range with a straight, baby cut shot - I almost never saw a draw with this combo

I opted to take a little weight out and try the 65g TZ6 M5 in the F9 turned down to 8 degrees. I tipped the TZ6 half an inch to try and reduce spin - was truly worried about spin, and launch especially being even higher than my Atmos

I could not have been more surprised with the results. First, let me say this thing is FAST. Ball speeds averaged 160mph, and was hitting 162-165mph easy on good strikes. Feel is fantastic, it loads and pops without feeling loose. I feel like I can swing this thing with ease, where my Atmos felt like I had to work at times. . The F9 is a really sweet feeling head, and ballspeeds across the face were very consistent even on mishits with the TZ6. The kicker here was launch.. this is what I didn't expect. My launch came DOWN 3-4 degrees on average from my Atmos. The way the shaft is loading and unloading is just delivering the ball at a much better angle for me. Spin is higher, but not by much. I'd say ~2300-2400 on average with a 13-14* launch, much more optimal launch conditions than I've ever had. Spin on low heel mishits was impressive and kept to a max of 2900-3k, honestly better than my Atmos.. This shaft allowed my natural draw to come back, but didn't allow me to snap it left. I was so impressed with this combo I pulled the Epic/Atmos combo right away, no need for it anymore.

In the spirit of getting test results for the rest of you guys waiting on yours....if anyone wants to sell me a cheap F9, G400 Max, M5........I'll get the shaft tipped and get ya'll the feedback lol ;).

I'm coming from a TPO last season so can't wait to try this once I find the right head for it.

I must say it is visually stunning, though. Stealthy.

Look forward to your thoughts once you get your TZ6 to see how you compare it to the Raijin.

Same - I am coming from hz yellow, raijin and eflowblue - all load, launch and hold off for me, albeit differently - looking for the unicorn ...TZ6 m4 is my hope for it...
