ME TOO! I’ve just been killing it with my Callaway irons this year. But I’m such a G-man I feel iron-FOMO without giving them a run, in the ever changing bag.

I disagree. The G400 irons I just traded in , had a "clicky" sound at times. I think that is due to the longer blade, and especially if you catch the ball toward the toe. The G400 were good, and sounded and felt good if you hit it clean. The G410 irons are more compact and seem, at least to me, to have corrected that. I upgraded and couldn't be more pleased. Look , sound and feel are improved, as well as a little better distance and trajectory. Everything I need. I also purchased the Glide Stealth Wedges. First time in the sand , hit a 10 yard shot from a bunker within 2 feet for a Sandy. Ping just makes great equipment.

On a whim I decided to pull the toe weight. I was surprised it was not difficult. Used the ping wood torque wrench to remove it. Ping used blue loctite to help secure the weights. I think there may be some space in the port to add some more weight but probably not much. I'm shocked ping won't change swingweight on these.

I finally took the G410 plunge today. Ordered 5-SW to replace my G irons (AWT shaft). After weeks of waffling on the shaft, decided on the Modus 105 stiff. I just seemed to hit it more “flush” in testing. Can’t wait for them to arrive!

I still think the G410 feels harder. The G400 are quite soft feeling to me, far more so than my CBX and MD4 wedges, and now the G410.

I don’t want to be seen as an arrogant, but in my opinion, who says that the 400 feel is better than 410, is either a YouTube reviewer (so that he/she can show how full of feel and knowledge he/she is) or a 400 owner that need to convince himself that the upgrade doesn’t worth ?????

So I'm still playing Eye 2's swing weighted at D5. I have a Ping driver fitting in about 1.5 weeks. I should have enough time to also hit the G410, i210, and iblades. I'm curious to see if any of these offer and "real world" improvements over my 30 yrs old set of irons. I'm totally willing to switch if I find one that I like better than my old faithfuls. I only care about what my scorecard looks like, not my clubs.

Did I say anything about them not being any good?

No, I simply said that the SW felt harder than my G400 irons.

I didn’t really need a new set of irons. But I like the finish and look of the 410s over the 400s. In addition, I have made some swing changes and when I did some fitting sessions it turns out my 400s are too upright. I allways get my irons fitted and this is the first time in 25 years my irons are not upright.

I went for 5-9, P, U and S wedges. Graphite shafts. Power lofts.

They feel nice. Soft. So did the 400s. They make a bit of click sound but not near as much as some TM and Callaway irons. Sometimes the mind can mix up sound and feel.

Has anyone personally adjusted them for loft and lie? Curious if the thicker hosel makes them more difficult to bend.

I tweaked mine to correct discrepancies in the build (typical for Ping) and to weaken them a little and I didn't find them more difficult to bend than the typical 17-4 Ping. The bend zone is in the notch, not the hosel, and the notch doesn't seem any fatter than other Ping's I've dealt with. 17-4 Ping's are never easy to bend mind you so a long arm bending bar is beneficial.

On a side note, as I get more used to my 410's I appreciate them more each week. They are definitely longer loft for loft compared to my (now departed) G25's and while I'm not distance challenged per say, I still appreciate that. The clubs look great behind the ball and are amazingly forgiving. My miss is out on the toe and I miss there often, yet the distance is still good. I came close to acing a par 3 yesterday hitting a 7 iron from 173, and on another of the same distance I hit the ball off the toe and was just off the front of the green after the ball covered 165 yards. My recently assembled i200's aren't going to see the bag any time soon...

Thanks for the reply Nessism. After throwing my g410 6-8 iron back in the bag I am playing much better. Shot a 78 today. Granted on an easier course than I normally play but I still hit 12 greens. Not bad for a 14 cap.

Interesting. Do you believe they are technically more forgiving (i.e. the design/engineering is worlds better)? Or, you just happen to like the look more and are swinging them better (I believe you were hoping for less offset when the rumors/pictures first came out)?

Given you were playing the G25s for a while and seem to have hit everything between the 25s and 410s, I'm a bit more inclined to believe the thoughts are not just due to the new club syndrome (or dramatic swing improvements).

I'm unlikely to buy a set this year but maybe next year...

I do think the 410's are the most forgiving G yet, it's not like the old versions are slouches in that regards though. And I also think the 410's are the best looking G's as judged from the playing position. Only slight negative to me is that the feel isn't quite as good as a thicker faced iron like the older 25's. Can't have everything I suppose.

Lofts are strong on these clubs so they hit the ball far. I can still swing pretty hard for someone of my age but I feel it the next day for sure...

Can one retro spec the lofts for these? They look nice from address. The i series has moved to much less offset, and I don't like a ton, but my i15 irons seem to sit between the current i210's and g410's. I'm not sure which way I will go with my next set. Not in love with the lofts of the G410s.

On Ping.com they list n/a under Retro Spec Loft numbers. Maybe they feel nobody would want weaker lofts on these clubs, or they are concerned with the effective bounce of the wide sole heads moving too high if the face is bent backwards?

You could also PowerSpec the i210s to get a bit of the offset added back. I would definitely do this if I bought the i210s and I may do it with the G410s.

Update: Now that I have had these for almost 3 months and finally gotten some rounds in, I am very pleased with my purchase. The 410s are very good on accuracy and forgiveness as I am getting away with more than I should on mis-hits. I have stuck with the wedges through the L and they impart a great amount of spin. Feel is nice on solid strikes. I am presently carrying 7-L in my bag because I can’t let my hybrids go, but as the summer goes on and there is better turf to hit from I may try to at least get the 5 and 6 irons in the lineup.

Joined the 410 club as well today. After giving everything under the sun a whack, boiled down to the 919 Hot Metals and G410. Mizzy had better spin and slightly longer distance by ever so slim a margin. Could do no wrong with either. Chose Gs mostly because well, I was ALWAYS going to choose them anyway.Once a fanboy... B)

Hopefully bag is set for summer.

Long time lurker in this thread and I now have a set of G410 5-SW coming soon and can’t wait.

12 handicap (uk) and always played players CB’s, liked the idea of G irons but could never get over the huge offset, our pro shop just got a demo set in and I couldn’t believe how good these look, topline and offset as good as any irons I’ve played recently.

The final straw was couple weeks ago when I played a round of golf with a scratch player at our club and two other 5 handicaps, they were playing a set of G’s, G30’s and G400’s.. I’m playing a set of Srixon Z745’s! ?

Love my G’s. Hit the G410’s at a local demo days, but didn’t care for the sound or lower flight (different lofts), and my G’s felt much softer than the 410’s. Guess I will hold out for the G420’s! Lol
