With all the orders going in for the new 410 clubs you're probably looking at 2-3 weeks, so you should have them by the end of this week or early next. I know everybody wants their new clubs ASAP, but wouldn't it be more fun if they just showed up at your door unexpectedly?

I'm joining the 410 club.:D Found a 5-UW set with XP 95 S shafts on ebay for a palatable price. I'm a low ball hitter so the high launch shaft should be okay. According to Wishons shaft profile software the XP 95 S is almost identical to Modus 105 S, only the XP is a smig stiffer in the tip. Worst case I'll reshaft with Recoil's. I'll provide a comparison impression against my G25's as soon as I get some rounds under my belt.

I ordered from TGW as well, about 3 weeks ago, I believe they are not sending the orders trough to ping.

 

Customer service is awful and even stock items take 2-3 days to ship.

 

I just canceled the order, I don't like dealing with them.

What kind of issues?

The hosel is taller than the older Ping G series irons and I expect there to be a space below the hosel bore for the weight.

Had a delivery yesterday! Should get a couple rounds in this weekend. Will post a detailed review after a few rounds. I'm upgrading from Gigagold so obviously a major upgrade. Getting 410 driver today. All Ping bag except for putter.

Between taking my clubs out of the box, putting them in my bag, and then pulling them out at Top Golf, some of my irons already had some minor wear to the hydropearl finish... But the performance will trump the durability of the finish for now. Extremely please with my time at Top Golf and looking forward to being able to play 18 this weekend.

Looking forward to hearing more opinions as G410 iron usage grows. Curious if the Hydropearl 2.0 finish resists scratching better than on G400.

Amen! Still have my Zing2's from 1997 when I first got fitted in Gainsborough, England. Best assignment of my USAF career.

I know this is minor to most, but its one of the main reasons I hate newer irons and a reason why I have always liked Ping irons of the past. They were indestructible, now they are like all the rest and look like they need to be replaced after some moderate use.

The chrome will mark up as will the face paint. The structure of the club, thus the ultimate durability, will be unaffected by this sort of minor cosmetic wear. If this bothers you I'd stay clear.

I also have some g25s like you do, I've been looking to upgrade and was thinking this would be the time to do it.

 

Now I'm not so sure......I know its minor, but I've seen some clubs that just look awful no matter how 'new' they are and often wonder why Ping would change. I'm assuming they will perform better, but I need a fitting to find that out soon. I've never needed much help with getting the ball in the air, should be interesting to see if these will just balloon for me.

I've really never been able to understand the concern over the hydropearl finish. Yes, it will mark up. After a while the finish blends together quite nicely. Forged irons get bag chatter like crazy but that is somehow considered some kind of a badge of honor or character. :huh:

The finish is much better than the g400’s were. These are much chromier if that makes sense. Love them. The forgiveness is off the charts in what looks to me like an almost “players” iron. They won’t fix a horrible swing but they completely dominate with anything better than a total crap move. They will be in my bag for years.

Update on my review. We’re still waiting out a lot of wet weather here but have got a few rounds in. Off the tee, the G410s perform very nice. I can’t tell you that distance is any more or less than with my CF16s. They just do what they are supposed to do. Off the turf, I just can’t tell yet because it’s so dang muddy. For direction, they go where I’m aiming but can’t dial in yardages off the soggy, dormant turf. I also am in need of some range sessions after playing very little this winter.

I just received my ebay set with XP95S's. Haven't hit them yet so can't provide feedback other than they feel nice to swing. I'm a reasonably fast swinger for a guy of 57 but I've never noticed much flight difference between different shafts. I'll post up a honeymoon review after playing this weekend.
