Maxfli Tour and Tour X ball any good?

Played 18 holes today with the new Tour X in Matte finish and the ball is softer feeling and spinnier with the driver in comparison to my regular pro v1x/srixon xv I normally play . Feels great with the irons and wedges but with driver is a a bit shorter than expected due to the reasons stated above. I hit all 3 golf balls with the driver in a few holes and the maxfli was always around 8-12 yards behind the pro v1x and srixon xv. Irons and wedges had similar spin as my gamers. For reference my ss is 112-115 with driver with angle of attack of +2 to +4 degrees. The matte finish was durable with minimal scuffs but stains easier than a normal finish golf ball. Just my .02 cents.

I don't want to be the late comer resurrecting a zombie thread, but I have to put in my two cents for the Maxfli Tour. A couple of months ago I bought three dozen on a flash sale for $19.98 ea. The first round I played with them, I saw no increase in distance though the ball did seem to fly a little straighter, except for when my dumb butt got tired and started lifting my arms more than turning my hips. Heck, even the illegal fly straight Polara Ball can't prevent that slice once that starts happening. Well to make a long story longer, I was sort of impressed, but still hadn't found "My New Ball for Next Season."

I was out testing balls again yesterday trying to make up my mind between the Cally Chrome Soft and some other "Tour Ball." I hated both of them. They felt slightly mushy off the clubs, and dropped a bit in distance. I don't even have a very impressive swing speed, so it's not that 105 +MPH Guy dissing on the softer tour balls----it's simply that they really felt mushy. As I turned for the back nine I reached into my bag for some more tees, and discovered I had left one of the Maxfli Tours in there. I figured "What the hell? I've already got a mediocre round going thanks to these mushy feeling go nowheres, so why not play this Maxfli till I lose it?"

I can't speak for or against Inesis 900's, or Pro V1's since those are further down the road for testing, but I will say--Callaway is out this year, and so far--Maxfli is in. It definitely flew straighter, though I was still fighting a push that day and it was easily 7-10 yards longer off the tee than either of the Cally's. Hey it's a quality ball if nothing else, and at a bargain basement price. It still has a fighting chance of getting into my bag as it putted extremely well, and chipped and pitched exceptionally well too. It was the first ball in a while to put well over 200 yard bullets back into my 3 wood. As it stands, it's mighty hard to beat for the price.

They are both very good balls. In store at least I'm seeing the 2 for $50 deal be an ongoing thing. A very good ball for that price. I liked the previous generation UFli Soft/Speed as well but I had two of the Soft's covers split on me last fall/winter within a couple of weeks. Hopefully that won't be an issue with the Tour/TourX.

A buddy of mine had some so I hit a couple. Was impressed. For the price-point (especially in the 2-for-deals) it’s a hard ball to beat.

I typically buy a couple dozen of the maxfli balls each year when they go on sale for my practice bag. Urethane cover, cheap, disposable. They've always performed well.

Edit: I will say though, if you are wanting to play an affordable "tour" ball at that 2 for $50ish price range, just go buy a couple dozen Snell. Not only are they about the same price, they perform much better. It's a ball with true tour performance and durability.

After checking out the "Very Good" rating on a golf ball test for the Maxfli Tour- (One tier below the top rating)- I went out and bought 2 dozen of flat Green, fer $50 at Dicks. I played the ball yesterday, with same ball all 18 holes and it seemed durable - a Few nicks- I'd say it will be good for at least another round or two-

Has equal or better distance as just about anything - Stops good on full iron shots- seems to react well in the short game chip, pitch or putting.

With the chartreuse green color, I seemed to be able to spot my ball well in advance. Easily spotted in the rough which was an added bonus-

My opinion is that It's a premium acting ball and hard to beat for that price.

The only drawback I thought was it has a bit harder feel...But that is subjective to anyone, I didn't mind it, but I noticed it.

Well son of a gun- Just posted in another thread in this forum and saw this one that I posted in-

I am still using these with the first box/last sleeve and have no issues. I play every weekend. Pretty impressive really- Not Pro V's, but a premium ball under for half the price.

As Bob Barker would say "The Price is Right!"

Good golf ball. Got to play with the ones I got for $19.99 and compares very well with most X balls. It truly checks all the boxes with good spin, durability and definitely a long ball off the driver. Its only one round and I'll play with them again tomorrow but these will serve me well for winter balls. Not giving up much if anything and cost makes it easier to swallow if they disappear in the leaves.
