The Original PTx actually had this design 3 years ago as well. Not new for them. They just hide it very well.

Caught my attention too. As much as I’ve enjoyed my PTx since their introduction, I can’t see a larger head or more offset being a positive for me. I bent all mine 2 degrees weak to decrease the offset and it was pleasing to my eye.

 

On a positive note, the originals are now on sale for $600 a set. That is an absurdly good deal on a VERY nice set of forged irons. I’d by another set but I already have two. One to play with and one set to test shafts with.

I thought that was just "some" of the irons? also, I would say these are different in the sense that these are a distance iron, like the 790s, or I500s. ETC.

Ok. This is odd. Unless someone just forgot to change the spec sheet, the offset and bounce listed for the PTx and the new “pro” are exactly the same. Maybe they’re just being lazy and they don’t know the actual specs of the new ones.

Top is PTx and the bottom is “pro”

I'm guessing these are replacements for the original PTx, not another offering fitting between them and the Ft. Worth blades.

The long irons in the originals are absolutely incredible.

4-6 irons are hollow with the tungsten plug. 7-PW are not.

my first set of new clubs was the Ben Hogan Apex PC. no idea why I ever sold them.....Callaway bought the APEX name but Hogan is making a nice comeback with beautiful clubs.

My first set of all MB\blade iron was BH 1999 Apex Blades. Got them to practice ball striking thinking they would hurt if I miss hit but they never did. Still regret that I got rid of those and probably the reason I haven't got rid of many iron sets since then. To this day, I still think that was the best blades ever.
