It’s an OLCC thing, for those that don’t know that is the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. We are a state controlled liquor state. Not sure why but they have stated no alcohol sales at courses. Last I heard their reasoning was you have to violate social distancing to purchase alcohol and drinking leads to people relaxing on the rules. At my course we even had the OLCC come out because people reported there was drinking on the course. ?

Mallrat - thanks, that is helpful. I guess the core of the question that I am trying to figure out is if the prohibited act is sale of beer for the course or drinking beer on the course.

Ah. This is a completely different matter. I would assume that the course would state explicitly that no consumption is allowed on course vs what they wrote, if this was going to be an issue.

I thought May 11 was the reopen date (per site) - but I have been watching the course cameras and seeing a smattering of folks playing. I was supposed to be there Sat - tomorrow....talk about major disappointment at the moment and a bit depressed!!

Duff and I differ a bit on this matter obviously. I think you can be "cheap" and still provide the resort with lots of financial gain. Paying/tipping for 4-6 drinks/day and then supplementing with your own seems reasonable to me. Definitely agree on tipping as much as you can, both at bars/restaurants and housekeeping.

Interesting, I just checked the Pacific course cameras and saw a foursome go off number 1, with another group waiting. Wonder if they did a soft open?!?

Could also be staff testing out the procedures and third guess - open for guests May 11th, open for local/outside play now?

If you're going 4-6 deep at the resort bar each day that isn't being cheap :-) If you're topping that up later on your own you've absolutely done your part! That's why I didn't quote you, you're a pro.

I didn't get that impression (wrongly or accurately) from the other guy - first timer having a whinge about booze and keen to bring his own - hence my 'stuff that' reply.

When your game travels as poorly as mine, you gotta turn elsewhere for enjoyment. I'm also one of those poor chaps who's game gets better after 2-3 drinks. Hit the range to warm up? Nah, better off enjoying a cool one before I tee off.

I'm neutral on the new logo. Preserve is the only one of the six that I like.

I'm not neutral, I love it! I got goosebumps watching that trailer that they released yesterday. We have two times on SR in October but it seems like it might as well be 20 years from now.

Preserve is by far my favorite logo there. Worst is Dunes IMO.

Ya fairly logo agnostic, but would likely pick OM if pushed and maybe the Pac's dolphins as least? They are all fairly middle of the road, so no real strong yeahs or nays.

The new Sheep Ranch logo is ok, not sure there were better options, can't put a Sheep on the logo so the Shepard's crook was a clever inclusion.

something happened on Pac Dunes 18th green - either they intentionally sanded it for some reason; or someone vandalized it.

If you're referring to the sandy spot on the back of the green, I'm pretty sure that was a dead spot, probably maintenance. When I was there in March that green had a few spots that weren't in great shape.

LOL...I just looked again and it looks fine....I swear, it looks like the whole was sanded.

^TBF, on Tues (I think it was Tues, what are days now anyways) it did look heavily sanded to me as well - or at least it really showed up on the cam.

They probably just did a punch of the greens. I've been there before where they do a punch with some micro tines (not sure on the exact name) then sand it heavily and let the sand soak in. About a day later it was barely noticeable. Maybe someone with more greens keeping knowledge can chime in.

So far the BD Puffin is way ahead as best logo - to me, it kind of defines the place.

This new SR if its correct is not too bad. Better than the others which are kind of hokey to me. I bought a Trails Rain Hat which is cool but nothing really says Golf!

My order would now be BD, SR, BT, OM, PD, BP

Random question - do they provide pin sheets at the Bandon courses? I cannot remember but trying to decide between range finder and golf watch.
