I reached out to Nippon on their Twitter and they said that ETA in the retail channel was Nov 17.

I’d opt for Mitsubishi Rayon MMTs or OTs over these. MMT is a graphite shaft with metal mesh in the tip. Less expensive and very high quality. They manufacture every raw ingredient in their products. Cannot imagine this expensive Nippon hybrid shaft delivering anything those don’t.

I’m a huge fan of Nippon however the release of this shaft seems to have fallen flat on its face. The shaft isn’t even on their website. When I called Nippon USA, I was told the info was being translated and shipments were delayed. That’s over 4 weeks ago. I think price will be another factor that hurts this shaft. I have the MMT in the hybrid and could not be happier!

The TXG guys just did a mini-review last week so it looks like the release is coming but it definitely hasn't been what I'd consider a blockbuster.

As to the price I want to see what the retail pricing ends up being.

MAP is $249. Sellers on eBay have the shaft for $215 to $250. I wouldn’t expect much different once the shafts are readily available.

Ya never know! GD DI retails for $220 ( SRP $290 gulp!) so it’s certainly up there price wise. Maybe the uniqueness of the Modus shaft will help sales.

But the AD-DI is a proven winner that's been validated over and over through the years. This Nippon offering hasn't even been reviewed it, let alone proven on TOUR or in the Am ranks. I'm sure it's a great shaft like most everything else they offer but they really failed in the marketing/validation process in the US market.

Is it a flop though? It has been out at retail for only a month or two. How long was Pro Modus out at retail before it made it to OEM offerings? 2-3 years? They want to capitalize on full price sales to cover R&D and marketing costs. Expensive and hard to test/find? I agree with that.

I have the GOST in my P790 UDI 2 iron and only had a chance to hit it off a range mat a few times.

Mine is the 102g xstiff...very true to flex and stable....And very, very soft feel.

Liked it very much and now have the same shaft in my TM SIM Max 19* hybrid.

I have no chance to try it at this time due to the course closures in my area.

I have the TX version of the GOST in my 0311 x 2i. It's definitely built off the 105 platform with the linear feel. My buddy has a shop and ordered 4 in X and TX, so I actually got a chance to talk with the Nippon rep and decided TX was the fit I was looking for. It's very smooth for a TX and easily flighted. Very smooth and anti left.

Already pulled and re-installed in another head. Haven't hit it in the new head, but quite impressed how easy it was to work with. Wish they'd make a heavier version.

I’ve played the 105x in a few different sets over the years and for me , the midsection and tip feel tighter and less prone to go left ,no matter how hard I load. Just feels sturdier. It’s got an absorption feel that makes you ask yourself what is this , but at the same time very stable like steel with a boring flight. Played and tried a lot of DI/hybrid shafts , and there’s not one I can liken resemblance of the feel characteristics. Plus the matte velvety sheen looks pretty dang cool.

Not played the .370 tip , but I couldn’t imagine it being overly different from the .355. For me , GOST is a lower spin slightly tighter linear feeling shaft than the 105 in x. The static weight also feels heavier than the 105 @D2.

Its in my 2 iron , but I couldn’t imagine a better hybrid shaft, if the weight and characteristics are what you’re looking for.

I play 105x in irons (was 105s, but anti-left / deflection help on the x really helped me) and a hybrid shaft in stiff in my 2 iron.....thinking stiff in this is right for me - 100 mph driver speed - thoughts?

Have the X in a forged Ti JDM Hybrid at 21* at 40” playing length. Definitely feels heavy and stout but have only hit it off a mat on GC Quad—I agree it is quite anti left. Anxious to give it a try on the range or course one of these days.
