We talk all the time that players will jump to a new club if it pays. Players will do anything if it pays (see the European Tour events that they are under fire for playing). Either the Wilson driver is significantly worse than the competition or they just aren’t paying players enough to want to take a risk and play them.

I think he is now actually into some version of the Pro V1. Initially went to TP5 and then moved on again from there. Reports this week certainly are that it is a Titleist ball. In his interview after the round today with Tim Barter on Sky Sports he said that the reason for the move was the ball.

Really has a low profile in professional golf. One professional win in 2011 on the ET. Current OWGR is 445. Two top 3 finishes since his only win in 2011. Plenty of missed cuts with a few top 10's each year. Perhaps Callaway signed him since he shot the first 59 in ET history in 2018. However good for him that he was able to secure an endorsement deal for 2020.

Maybe he still makes a lot of cuts in ET events and this is an effort at billboarding on Callaway's part to ensure max visibility. Back in TM's free spending days their Tour staff was battallion sized and had numerous guys like that. I was aware of the name but just not really aware of his accomplishments or lack thereof.
