From ditch digger to POTUS is NOT political and it doesn't, in itself, invoke anything. No disrespect, but English 101. I 100% completely agree with this. I was an early adopter fan of PReed for this specific reason. Dude is a gamer. I am not so much anymore as I do not like his antics. From what I hear I am very much misreading him. Which may be the case.

It was not meant to be political in any shape fashion or form It was used as an example for the lowest end of the totem pole to the highest end of the same totem pole. I am not sure that's entirely true. He sucked in Paris (shot 80+ being paired with the cat) and in Melbourne. Two enviroemts where he should succeed according to your argument.

tell me about tiger going 0-4 in paris... Reed went 1-2. then look at overall records in ryder cup. hes tough as nails and 2 supbar performances dont mean much. hes shown he can do it at home and on the road. if you cant see that youre blinded by hate

Agreed, Reed has shown he can get it done but the subpar performances have to be considered as much as the great ones. Question is does Stricker want the excess baggage that comes with Reed if it comes down to a captain's pick for 2020. I say no ...

Have to agree based on recent results. One win in singles at PC vs. his abysmal team record and team chemistry issues isn't worth the risk. I think Tiger took a chance, maybe all the captains agreed to take a chance, who knows, but I also think he didn't live up to what was expected or hoped for. He'll have to make it on points, IMO.

agree partially. But. Best I can find he’s 4-1-1 in singles for Ryder cup and pres cup career. 3-0 in Ryder cup singles. That says he plays well. Just doesn’t play well with others. Smart thing to do would be pick him and tell him at time of pick that he needs to get 1 team point and win his singles match. Or else no more picks. Guaranteed 2 points form anyone is worth a pick.

I think youre overthinking it.nobody has more baggage than Tiger so reed moving forward all this will be forgotten.He will be and should be a captains pick if hes showing any form but most likely get in on points as he hasnt been outside the top 30 fedex since 2012...Hes #12 in the world. lets not pretend hes a fringe player

Also hes probably the best sinlges players team usa has and with the right partner as hes shown with spieth in the past he can light it up in alternate shot or 4 ball. As reference tiger is 1-6-1 in his last 8 ryder cup matches. Reed is 5-2-1 in his last 8 ryder cup matches. Easy choice for me

Tiger was the best player on the team recently - Reed couldn't win with Woods in France and played like shite. Reed couldn't win with Simpson and went 0-3 in team play. Apparently, Spieth is the only one who Reed can win with and that was last in 2016 at Hazeltine. Spieth is no lock to make the 2020 team and if you believe the rumors, doesn't want to play with Reed anymore.

Time will tell but if it were me and I had a choice between Kisner or Reed, it's Kisner.

tiger 2019 presidents cup versus Reed 2016 ryder cup? not even close to who was better.Reed by a metric mile. Also while were at it Tiger couldnt win with anybody else in his last 2 ryder cups, ironically Reeds only 2 losses came while paired with his idol. Im a big tiger fan but his ryder cup record resume for a player of his caliber is trash. Id argue he cost the US the 2012 ryder cup.Was he good at the recent presidents cup? sure but who cares really? I dont think beating abraham ancer goes down in his career highlights

It wont come down to kisner and reed. I like kisner in match play and believe he should have been there on those hard crusty greens but alas he chose someone else.

2016 will have been 4 years removed when we hit September 2020. There's no guarantee Tiger will be on the team as a player bit most certainly will be an assistant captain. Reed is 15th now in the standings - if he doesn't make the top 8, he doesn't get picked IMO. And no way does Stricker pick both Kisner and Reed with their past history. And if came down to Tiger vs Reed for the last spot, Stricker is picking Woods.

Im aware of his team play record. Which is why I said what I said. Plenty of guys with terrible singles records and good team play records. That’s not a good indicator of a player playing well. Not like a great singles record is. You can’t be carried in singles. It’s play or lose.
