IIRC, Plum Creek is not an easy walk.

The back 9 of TPC does get a bit hilly, which is pretty rough when the course is already long.

One of my biggest complaints about modern golf courses is how often there are long distances between holes (to accommodate homes and roads). Having to walk the equivalent of a long par 3 to get to the next hole gets to be draining.

This whole mask requirement is going to put a damper on golf outings.

Riverdale Dunes is open and is just about 30 minutes from Boulder. Well worth the drive. I do enjoy West Woods but IMO Riverdale Dunes is far superior. Then again I'd pick the Dunes over most courses in Colorado.

Also, played 9 with my kids today at CommonGround this afternoon and played with my hickory clubs. It was just about perfect. Shot a 40 (from the white tees) with those, which is better than I score with my modern clubs. Apparently I just need to stick to playing with the old stuff!

I’ve always wondered why people love the Dunes so much. I have a few buddies who play men’s league there and think it’s great as well. I don’t know if it makes my top 10 public courses in the metro area personally. It certainly is more enjoyable when the wind isn’t howling though. It certainly is walkable though which is a great selling point right now.

You're just jealous that you can't drive the short par 4's.

To each their own, I really like the layout and the links style courses suit my eye, enjoy playing them. I'm not a big fan of Saddle Rock and my friends think I'm crazy, they love it. I just don't get it. Murphy Creek on the other hand is probably my #1 favorite in the metro area. That's the beauty of this game, there's something for everyone!

Count me in the group that really likes Riverdale Dunes. The flow is terrific and it is walkable. It is the only Pete Dye course I have ever liked and I have played a half dozen or so.

I played Eagle Trace Sunday since that was the only place I could get a last minute tee time. Typical Eagle Trace conditions. A couple spots of patchiness in a few fairways. Greens fine except for some spots animals dug out small holes on a couple greens.

Playing Colorado National Friday and Common Ground Saturday. Will report back. I know Colorado National aerated early last week, so not expecting great greens. I think anyone open is doing normal maintenance.

Played Fossil Trace this morning. Weather was absolutely beautiful. And I know this is going to sound like sour grapes, after all we were golfing during this whole Covid mess....however

It was $56 to walk which is probably a fair price for an April round at Fossil Trace. But there were 2 temporary greens (one of which had a yardage plaque in the middle of it) and there was an entire hole closed. This is fine, but please let people know on the website when booking. I think that $45-$48 would have been a more fair price cause of this.

Anyway, it was great to get out, that walk was brutal in a few spots but certainly what my fat@ss needed. Shot an 81* but that was really an 83 I think. My buddy had the roller coaster nine on the back. 4 birdies and a double and triple. I joked about making a wager after he sprayed his tee shot on 10, so glad we didn't bet!

The hole modifications were and are mentioned on the web site when you click the button to book a tee time. I like to play it in the spring when it is cheaper but that's the reason I decided not to play there this weekend:

RENOVATIONSHole 2 is playing as a par 3 with a temporary green. Hole 3 is currently closed for green renovation. Hole 15 is playing as a par 4 with a temporary green. Learn more about how the project will improve the golf experience.

Colorado National was ok. Some of the fairways didn't come out of winter well and are patchy. The greens were still very bumpy after aeration last week.

Well my buddy said he saw nothing when he booked, so it’s possible they added it after or he just blatantly missed it. But glad to see that they have it on there now. Also not sure what they have planned for holes 2 and 3, but the new green on 15 should be a big improvement
