Love it man sounds like you have been hanging around my shop. Yep definitely some Franken clubs there. Yep I have tons of experiments around the shop some good some bad. My bud the local Miura dealer here calls my shop "The Little Shop of Horrors" And yes around here and in Classic circles of WRX I am known as Dr Lead Tape too. Yep part of my fun for golf now experimenting outside the box

I have a Ping B90i broom stick putter that looks like a giant banana. I can putt fairly well with it and before anyone asks I do not anchor and did not before when I had the yips and putted with it for a couple of years

I........ I just don't even know how you land THERE!

I pride myself on thinking outside the box, but, WOW! I reread your WITB probably 7 or 8 times and I'm still clueless how you gap that yardage wise.

Feel your pain on the back. Been on the shelf since May. Cabin Fever setting in....

I'll be putting a 21 degree 917F2 in the bag in 2020. The club started as a womans model , reshafted with a Kuro Kage Tini or a Diamana S+. FWIW , the heads are exactly the same, the only difference is the flex and 1" shorter playing length.

The other odd clubs I use are a set of late 90's era Hogan Apex Plus irons reshafted with Xcalibur TourX graphite shafts. I wish Golfworks still carried the Xcalibur line as I need a 4i shaft after softstepping my set.

Bag Setup - changes too often to bother listing

Haha. My bag is super weird but I have no shame. I set out to make the absolute easiest sticks to hit (for me). The courses I play are short and tight, so I tried to work around that. Also have a few sticks in there for specific holes that give me an advantage over my playing buds but also are fairly functional in a general sense.

Gapping is fine, especially from the 6 'iron' on down. Above the six I have a big gap, but I hit so few long approach shots that I decided I'd rather have a plethora of driving/specialty clubs.

I know what each of my clubs will and won't do, and that's most important for me.

I do have a 2nd DIY single length bag of Adams Super S hybrids, Wishon 870ti's, and PING wedges if needed.

OK, now you really should include a picture . On the Titleist blog, there is a thread about unusual setups, but I have to say that nothing comes close to yours.

I've got an old 19* TNT hybrid (Canadian company, circa 2000) that can't get kicked out of the bag.

Bought as a Junior at Reg-flex, plays a bit short length-wise than modern hybrids but has always been super consistent and avoids the hook better than any newer models.

I'm dreading the day that it needs to be replaced.

The only club in my bag that is kind of funky is my 5 wood.

It is a Cobra F6 Baffler set to 18.5° with a Nippon NS PRO 950FW steel shaft. Total club length is 40.5". I love this club to bits. Easy to hit out of any lie. Due to the shorter shaft, I find it also quite easy to trap the ball and launch it low. Really versatile club.

I play the strangest wedges around...

I play my wedges 2.5" short. I love chipping around the greens with a short club. Plus, if you figure it out correctly, a full shot with them is much shorter so you can learn to gap them correctly. I play a 50˚ Mizuno at the moment that is cut down 2.5" and it is my favorite club to use around the green. It is also my ~105 yard club with a full swing. This week I am building a SCOR wedge set consisting of 43˚, 50˚, and 57˚ and 2.5" short. My normal PXG gap wedge goes ~125 yards so my 43˚ wedge @ 2.5" short should be around 115 yard full shot (and be my go to club around the green where I need some rollout). The 50˚ should be around the Mizuno at ~105 yards, and the 57˚ should be ~90-95 yards full shot.

I'm probably the only fool that does this. Also, my Ping G400 Max driver uses a 3w shaft and G400 3w uses a 5w shaft. My irons are played at standard length. I prefer shorter clubs for my woods and wedges. Weird.

Interesting that you like your wedges that short. I had mine regripped with an 11.5" grip to facilitate choking down.

I hadn't heard of SCOR wedges and so did some research. It appears to me that Terry Koehler either closed the company down or folded into the Hogan relaunch (the Equalizer wedges have pretty similar features), but it seems to be a really interesting concept. Are you making yours out of second hand heads or are they still available.

First, I am pretty short at 5'6". When I choke down to where I feel comfortable chipping on a standard length club, the butt of the club sometimes gets in my way. This forces me to de-loft the wedge more than I want. When I cut them down, I don't have to do that.

You are 100% correct with the SCOR company. I think Ben Hogan did a take over. I have never hit the SCOR wedges, but have 3 new heads coming in the mail today. I have, however, did a decent amount of research on them. What drew me to them was the individual degrees of each one allowing you to really hone in on the exact degree you want. For my wedge set, I would rather it say 43˚ rather than 8i etc. It's a mental thing. lol But, yes, you have to buy the heads on the used market.
