It really is inferior equipment, everything was coming off low. All 3 of my Mizuno wedges much better ball flight. Felt like I was hitting metal against stone every time I hit that club.

If we were neightbors we could golf a lot!

I went ahead and ordered a 6 and 8 iron head. I am going to ask the fitters to put the Oziks on those 2 and play a minimlist set.

Driver, 4 iron, 6 iron, 8 iron (bb 2019) 46 Mizuno, 56 Mizuno and 60 Mizuno Ody Putter. 8 clubs

I am still going with the min model but the 6 iron was a female head which was a lot different. Another poster (thank you) stated the difference. So until I can find a MATCHING 6 and 8 (male version 2019 bb) I am not going to buy.....
That's all I meant by staying with the Hawkeyes. Long term, heck even medium term this isn't a sustainable solution

To be honest I think this set is the best for me.
Driver, 4 Iron, 6 Iron, 8 Iron (BB 2019 MEN), 46 Mizuno, 60 Mizuno and Putter. ( I have a 56 too that I may bring along). Either way I am looking at 7 - 8 Clubs.

Not a teacher and not his students, but him and a couple of friends. I don't know any teachers who advocate using only the 4-8 irons. Most, if they are truly dealing with a beginner, will suggest a couple of hybrids or fairway woods at the long end of the bag and place an iron where they start making consistent contact. For true beginners this can start for people usually in the 28-32* loft range, and as you get faster and start making better contact, then hybrids can slowly drop away. Most amateurs who swing under about 105mph really have no business hitting an iron less than about 26*, IMO. I haven't seen anyone in my fits who has hit an iron better than a hybrid or some sort of utlity iron, even those who swear up and down they can't hit a hybrid. The answer is usually, no you can, you just can't hit your hybrid.

Take a look at the LPGA bags and you will often see a wide variety of hybrids, sometimes up to 30* in some instances. These gals typically swing around 95mph, with some pushing upwards of 105 or more. Michelle Wie is a good example who supposedly clocks in excess of 105 and she used an 11 wood (25* fairway).

OP, I would be very stressed if I purchased clubs the ways you have described. I would simply find a decent fitter, get fit, purchase the clubs, and move on.
