I don’t know if I’d say left biased, but it has the left miss in it occasionally. Whereas my hzrdus green has no left to speak of. Kind of hoping Ventus black has the feel of the XC but dispersion of hulk.

Sorry.. I misconstrued your words...my brain was thinking "left biased" because I can hook a putt and the left side of the course is always a place I can get to quickly.  I played a few holes tonight with the XC in my new driver.. the jury is still out whether it will make in into the bag or not.. Ventus black is going to be hard to beat...

I tried the GD XC is 6s and it just did not work for me. I went to the 6X and Loved the feel/dispersion. Ventus black did not match up with my swing for some reason, I like the kick in the XC a lot more.

What type of swing speed do you have?  Looking at the XC, Av Raw White or blue in the TSi3 driver.

Anywhere from 110-114 dependent on the day. Medium tempo, late release. In the 6s I could not get the face to close. 6x has worked a lot better for me

Makes sense.  Looks like the GD site recommends X flex for SS 105 or better.

I would agree with the recommendations. I picked up some ss from when I was originally fit to the end of the season so that that matches with what i was seeing on course. The XC with a little added back weight in the standard SIM 9 degree has been perfect for me from a launch perspective

Xc is a natural fit, tour ad shafts silently kill the marketing buzz of the Ventus. The Ventus is a good shaft don’t get me wrong but it isn’t the magic wand that people make it out to be. Just my opinion. The feel of the xc mixed with the dispersion and efficiency👌🏼

Have to agree.  XC launches a little higher but spin is low like the Black.  XC to me feels maybe a bit smoother and has more kick as well.  A little softer in the mid and handle as well IMO.  I would call the XC a mid-low/low shaft.  Def not low/low like the Black.

Def your opinion.  Don't get me wrong, GD shafts are amazing, but if you look at the number of Ventus shafts in play on all the tours, it outnumbers GD shafts.  My cousins went in for a brief fitting on my buddy's trackman and they both ended up with the TP because they loved the way it felt and gave them the best numbers.  Ventus Black for me all the way.  I tested 14 different shafts I think last year when I went in for my fitting and ended up with the Ventus Black.  Besides numbers, it produced the tightest dispersion out of any shafts I tested.

A no doubter that the Ventus a a great shaft, I’m curious though how many players are getting financial kickbacks from Fujikura though, I also just prefer the feel of tour ad’s. I just remember all the hype there was around Aldila rougue silver and black and I don’t know a single person playing that shaft anymore.

I don't think the shaft OEMs pay the tour guys.  For example, Rory had the Kuro Kage in his driver, switched to the Ventus Black and then back to the KK.  His CK Pro White is still in his 3 metal.  There are plenty of guys and gals on tour that play different shafts from different companies.

Good question.  I have a 1k on the way and have tested the XC last year when I went in for my driver fitting.  I'll let you know the results and how they compare.

Wondering how that testing went? Revisiting this as I’m a bit curious. @phizzy30

1k is linear and feels stiffer.  XC has more feel IMO.  XC was also better dispersion wise than the 1k.  I didn't see the ball hooking as much that's for sure.  Launch was a bit higher and spin was the same.

Anyone play a cut and realize that the XC over cuts from time to time? I know it's a bit specific but want to try something that's got a little more stable tip to minimize curvature with my drives and figure the Ventus Black might be the way to go because of velocore, but wanted to check with you folks first. I just don't like how the XC kicks so much through impact which doesn't work when hitting pretty level with a slight leftward path.

Had the Ventus Black and found that I could hit a cut with it but it was still easy to turn the ball over.  Ventus Black also has a little bit of kick in x flex.  I've been told that it has virtually no kick in TX flex though so keep that in mind.

Ventus Black was a no-go for me as I did not enjoy the feel of it and it seems harder for me to turn over. Tour AD XC has been the perfect fit in my Rogue Max LS driver. Easy to hit draws or fades and it’s so smooth and just hammers the ball out there.

I like the Tour AD BB a lot but I can tell Graphite Design has tightened up that same profile in the XC. I’m always looking for mid-launch and low spin and the XC is right there.
