Ping Heppler- delayed?

Heard from a friend who preordered that it won’t ship until March 30 due to “quality control issues”. Anyone know anything about this?

I was just wondering about the release date for these things, because it's all over the map online. Some websites say early March, some late, Golf Galaxy says early April. Really not a fantastic sign.

Seems Ping has had a number of glitches on product release. Remember a couple with LST driver heads.

Good news is, Ping will stand behind anything that fails.

Could also be supply chain reliant on China is behind, due to coronavirus.

Newton echoed concerns about shaft being too whippy (but better than Sigma 2). Can order fixed length custom which solves this issue...

I test fit a Floki about a week and a half ago at Kierland. I really wanted to like it to replace my Shea H. I haven't putted without an insert in a while so I really liked how firm the strike felt but I just didn't like how the Floki set up. I fit short (32") and orange dot flat so maybe that'll help.

I have. Really like the ZB model. Clean look. Still not a fan of the whippy adjustable length shaft ... tho it is considerable better than the Sigma 2 shafts which felt like wet noodles.

The adjustable shaft in the sigma 2 felt so off to me. If they can’t figure out a way to stiffen it they should dump it.

Or just get a putter from any other manufacturer with a normal shaft? One is a lot easier than the other.

You can literally order one on any golf retailer’s website. If you like the putter but don’t love the shaft it is an easy solution. Carl’s is one source.

So you can order one but choose a custom non adjustable shaft and it ships? Or we are just making assumptions here? I pre-ordered a Fetch and tried to cancel it because I'm already playing and moved on but of course it cant be canceled at this time..... typical. Thanks Ping!

Does anyone know if the Tomcat 14 is for a stroke with an arc or not? Ping says, "small arc" and another site says, "strong arc'. The Folki is supposed to be a big arc stroke putter. I would probably go with a fixed length if I get one .

I had a conversation with a Ping service rep about this. On the Ping site, they mention some of the legacy versions are available in all stroke types. I was interested in a TR Ketsch with a strong arc. The rep told me those were no longer available in the pipeline. I went on to ask whether the Heppler line could be adjusted for stroke arc and the rep said no. As I mentioned above, the Floki and ZB are the two strong arc models in the line. Personally, I didn't like the way either of them set up but that could have been that I fit short and flat so the standard lie angles didn't work for me.

I absolutely need a putter that sets up flat and square when I ground it. More important than stroke arc for me. I find myself adjusting my setup to get the putter set up flat and square. I got the Wolverine to set up well for me and I was better with that than the Floki. I putted two seasons with a Senita B CB because I could get that to set up because the grip is like 3 feet long and you can put your hands anywhere on it and that's for a slight arc. Of course, that leads to wild inconsistency.

I guess my point is that unless it's a center shafted putter, go with the putter than gives you confidence in set up rather than one that "fits" your stroke arc. I have a strong arc and while I rolled the heck out of a Piper C, I think that was more because the greens at the old Golfsmith funneled everything you hit into the hole. I was like Ben Crenshaw in the shop and Happy Gilmore on the course.

Well my interest is officially dead. GG emailed me saying they canceled my order for the Fetch which tells me this whole delay with Ping is pretty serious. Too bad but Ive moved on to the Triple Track Ten!
