Handicaps 10 - 18 - What type of irons are you playing?

Indeed.

Everything begun because I ordered the G410 and after trying the i210 wanted to change my order, but it shipped already. I have used the Gs for about 10 months, but something with the turf interaction wasn’t right. DBMs are just what I was looking for and even more.

But don’t know if I went that route if I had managed to switch the Gs with the i in the first place. i210 are very fantastic irons, but love my Maltby’s more ??

15 hdc playing to a 20. Just got back into game, was down to 12hdcp before back problems in 2015. Just upgraded my Nike VR Pro combo's to Maltby TS2/1 combo set. UNBELIEVABLE. Workability of the nike's forgiveness for days...sound and feel both BETTER..

I just shot my first round breaking 80 ...granted with the wonky "cup above ground" so you can add 3-4 strokes...

(about 8 rounds into the new sticks).

If you prefer players profile and are a semi-decent ball striker, TS1 all day. If you want a bit more distance and more "point and shoot" get the TS2's. or be like me and do a combo set4-7 ts2, 8-G ts1. You will not look back...seriously.

The thing I like most is the clubs just DO what you want. I could tell you the ball flight and trajectory with a blind fold on just based on my swing. I have never had such consistent feedback from a club. I know when I miss, I know when I swing weird etc. When I make a good swing, I get exactly the result I'm looking for. Truly sweet clubs. VERY comparable to TM P790's for 1/3 of the price. I got mine with Project x 6.0 shafts.

topline on the ts2 is a little thick, but it goes away after one round. Honestly, if I had to do it again, I may go a full set of TS1's as the more I get used to swinging them the more the feel speaks to me...but you can't go wrong.

TS2's will offer a bit more forgiveness on a slower swing speed, but the TS1 are also very forgiving...

Also, Both styles have an AMAZING sole. Turf interaction is perfect.

Hope that helps!

I dont keep handicap. Should be around a 14 to 17? Score is usally 80 my lowest to 96 if i have a disasterous round. Typically 85 to 90. Ive played mostly GI irons i just got rid of steelhead xr pro irons. Amazing club just still seemed game improvement like to me. I was on a mission to find the most compact most forgiving iron i can get. The virus killed my fittint hopes which was supposed to take place this month. After a ton of research and sleepless nights lol i have come across the 2019 Honma TW 747p irons. A players distance iron which looks pretty compact from videos and photos. Very very nice looking club and through reviews and testing is said to be top forgiving compared to other irons in same category with same long distance. Other choices were callaway mavrik pro and apex 19. Theyre also said to feel very soft. If this does not work out i plan to go with standard mavriks. I receive my irons this Tuesday or Wednesday. Cant wait.

Nippon shafts are very good. Most of the LPGA players use the Nippon NS Pro 950. The XXIO Forged come stock with a Nippon made for XXIO NS PRO 920GH. It's a 92 gram steel shaft. I'm transitioning from graphite so light weight steel is perfect for me. The shafts are counter balanced with a 13g weight in the butt end of the club that is supposed to help with getting the club in the correct position at the top and transition. I can't wait for the shutdown to end so I can hit them.

Steelhead XR Pros with S-Tapers last season. SLDR with DG S400 this season. They are a nice combination of playability and forgiveness. Holding steady at a 10 right now.

With irons, I gravitate towards accuracy; so right now that's Titleist 718 AP1.

I have been using either Nike split cavities or Nike VR Pro blades since 2010, and I have

no plans on switching to anything else; they feel just as good as they look. Luckily, I have

2 sets of the blades, and the split cavities don't get used much, so I am set for a while.

I am currently an 11, but I switched to the Nike irons long before consistency would have

suggested it...the price was just too good to pass up :~)

No real cap, estimate around 11-14; break 80 a handful of times per year. Low round last season was a 74 (+4).

Generally prefer a compact CB, forged, or combo set; rotating iron sets are as follows:

2018 Callaway X-Forged/Apex MB 4i-7i/7i-PW Modus3 120

2013 Mizuno MP-54 4i-PW DG AMT S300

2017 Ping i200 4i-UW AWT 2.0

Previously gamed Srixon Z745 and JPX-850 Forged...I miss those sets sometimes.
