We talked about this cut thing a few pages or more ago. The extra pick would make more work for the Commish, and he does enough already. Guess one could already have an extra pick done in reserve in case etc etc. Agree about the WD as opposed to MC. That is a good idea, but imo think we have to have 3 picks per tournament. From now on will have to check nightly wednesdays for injuries and go from there. If I had stayed on a few more seconds probably would of seen Docs post right after mine at same time and had a pick. Just the way the ball bounces OB.

Yeah it's Xmas in Patriotland and as you can tell by this tiny bite, still got plenty of cap space left broooooooooooooo.

Whomever had Berger gets a 0 for him this week. I of course wouldn't even think of giving out a -3 just because your horse stumbled in the paddock before the race and had to be put down. 😛

 

If a player wants to list an alternate (weekly) in case of this situation in the future that will be fine if: 

 

1. The participant makes note (posted) of the one horse is out and my (named) horse is now in there in place of the original.

2. Show legal birth records of the replacement horse to prove validity. 

 

 

 

Replacement picks are fine if they are in your regular weekly picks post. I just will not be held responsible for looking back to see who your alternate was and updating your records. 

 

Do like me and select the healthier horse to begin with and avoid having to deal with limp ponies.   🙃

Well put. Yes either check the night before and make the adjustment or have an alternate pick (that you are responsible for updating) named in your original weekly post.

It's an interesting start to the day so far for me at work. This past Tour player comes here a few times a year to tee it up. One of our members puts together a group of fellow U of Fla. Gator alumni and the 12 of them enjoy a round and a dinner afterwards. I always enjoy chatting with Chris as he is a funny one.

 

Once in a while I get sought out for a task that seemingly only I have the ability for around here. See all the young buck valet guys can't drive a manual transmission vehicle. So they seek out the ol' commish to move any stick shift car. What a blast to drive this baby was. I took the very long way to the designated parking lot. 😉

Planning to golf after work with the assistant pro's.

As I try and figure out a way to get through all of the high dollar corporate BS that has penetrated golf and the tour now. I hasten back to a time when celebrities were all the rage! Today it's Bill Murray and a handful of B listers at the Att Pro AM...years ago it was Bing Crosby and then there was Bob Hope, this week it would have been none other than the "Great One" himself Jackie Gleason. He could wow a crowd much like Murray does now. We even had Dinah Shore basically propping up womens golf into the mainstream.

 

I miss those days as a kid watching the legends interact with the celebrities and playing in these tournaments.  Now, the Pro Am gets some A listers, pros and celebs, but most seem to skip it...sad. 

 

Look back at the "Great One" which is now the Honda Classic which is being played at the PGA National resort.

So I think I am going to keep calling it the Jackie Gleason Inverrary Classic. Funny how they kept the word "Classic" but ditched everything else. Hell, now it's not even the customary first tournament of the Florida swing anymore because they had to insert another commercial WGC event. Playing meaningful tournaments only means how much money is at stake now. You win the WGC you sittin' pretty! Maybe I am just getting really old and miss black and white TV! You had to use more of your imagination back in those days...LOL

I remember at his tournament 'The Great One' would sit in his cart at the back of 18 in all his opulence and just get hammered. Surprised he didn't have a seat belt. Once in a while he would wave his hand around like Jackie Caesar. Couldn't find a pic of that, so these will have to do.

Yes men, the Santa Fe Roamers were on special, 3 pairs for $19.99. You got Admiral Blue, Wine, and tobacco. Stan is wearing the tobacco's as he protects our President. Do you think he could catch a criminal on foot running full speed in those? Probably has a mustard stain on the toe of one those beauties.

I'm doing alright though in the no-name Bear Trap Tournament. I DID NOT have a player miss the cut. Some hard earned points coming to touch this week. 
 

Currently a pair of T9's    !!   Lowry  and Tringale. 

 

and Mr. Steele is right now -4 though 13 holes and has moved up impressively over 50 positions.  I'm counting my chic's before they hatch and say commish is in the running for this week's winner come Sunday.
