I'm fairly worn out after a long weekend at work that saw a total of over 375 golfers tee it up. I busted hump big time.

I have a tee time today at noon. I face two new opponents and the no.1 golf buddy on a tough track that I haven't played since last fall. I've been playing steady of late but this is golf, so fellas if you wouldn't mind send me some luck please for my round today, even it's just for me being the chief statistician around here. 😉

That a'int no kick follow through. That twine is tied to your junk and when that catapult resets it tugs your cucumber and the reaction is that Amish boot kick deal.

What a crap week! A tricked up made for TV event to take away from the spring fling in Florida.  Match play whatever. ANyone gonna be watching? I doubt it. Tiger out, Koepka out, let me get jazzed up about Rory vs IM Yeah baby!  Another tricked up Pete Dye course, Another made for TV event, sensationalized They should call it the Fox/CNN News Open. Spin this anyway you want it, but the season is just starting and we have to get distracted with these cheesy add on events. This is the reason they sucked the air out of the Honda Classic, and now they are going to blow a bunch of over hyped air into the PGA of Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey tour event. Are they gonna park elephants on the par 3's Hole in one wins Dumbo!

First off, as a young man I used to peruse the aisles of the very same King Soopers in which 10 were killed yesterday.  I still have friends in Boulder, and in fact, one of them owns a business that is by Google a 1 minute walk to the King Soopers.  My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones as they were doing the incredibly dangerous act of shopping for groceries.  I have to ask, when will it end?

 

Now, onto the picks.  As the NRA flounders, taking money from Russia and anyone else who can rub two nickels together to avoid bankruptcy, I am reminded of the constant refrain about the second amendment.  Well, if you have ever read any Marvel comic books, you would know even Captain America didn't use a gun.  That crime fighter used a shield.  Yep, just a shield.  He could throw it, bop people with it, and if the movie is true, he would even go on USO tours with it.  Can you imagine Captain America and Marilyn Monroe on the same stage?  I cannot even wrap my head around it.  When we realize this is all fiction (which I just learned there was no Capt. America) I needed a substitute, but is there a substitute for the classic hero?  Not sure, but I am going to take Capt. America and all of his faults.  Nothing says Capt America like stealing you teammates wallet, repeatedly cheating, and being an all around morally bankrupt individual.  But P3P is in the basement, and if he gets me what I need I need I can look away.  Patrick Reed.  Take notes NRA, sometimes you have to sell your soul to make headway.

 

Don't think I am religious, in fact if anything, I am a cynical guy but sometimes I have to reflect and ask, "WWJD?"  I rarely come up with an answer.  I can't imagine being a black kid in the middle east with a prostitute for a mom changing the world through empathy.  I do know, every once in a while, Jesus does return to this earth to bless certain teams and individuals simply because with everything going on, sports is really important to him.  Did you know that as a young man Jesus invented golf, and now he keeps a close eye on his favorites.  If the reports of Jesus are true, he has become a hater of many things which doesn't make 100% sense to me, but he loves, and I mean he loves Webb Simpson.  So, in my WWJD of the day, I am jumping on board with the son of Yahweh and riding Webb like a mule in the Sinai peninsula.

 

The courses are slowly waking up in the PNW.  Its cold, the snow flurries didn't deter us, the wind made us sad, and the golf was atrocious.  No maintenance yet because the ground is so wet, so the lament of, "I have mud on my ball" was actually a careful inspection to make sure it wasn't goose crap before whacking the little frozen orb forward toward it target.  Not a lot of good golf to be had, but spectacular Jackson Pollock-esque goose crap splatterings on rain pants made up for the lack of artistry on the course.

A half hour south of downtown Asheville is a little town of Horseshoe N.C. There are horse farms a plenty that I drive by to get to the Cummings Cove C.C. That was the sight of yesterday's round for me.

I'm happy to report that the trees have started to bloom around commishland. It's an enjoyable cruise by many white fenced pastures. As I pulled into the country club I spied this fab tree full of blooms adjacent to the clubhouse. It was a glorious sunny spring day. My score was anything but glorious.
