Wait time for Ping?

I ordered a ping i500 3 iron to match my set on December 4th. I talked to my ping pro today. He said that his inside guy at ping told him ping is running at a very low staff again due to covid. They also get a Christmas break. So I should expect to wait until mid January at least. The i500s aren’t a highly sought after club like the other models.

Anyone else with wait times for Ping? I think I ordered my i210's 4 weeks ago. Assume I have 8 more to go. To regrip or not to regrip my current gamers....

I played a round two weeks ago with a Ping employee who assembles clubs. He said they build them as soon as they receive the parts from overseas. The supply chain continues to be the issue. 

 

Shockingly, he said that they lost a container of parts when the container ship hit rough seas in the Pacific, and the container was washed overboard. It's not a common occurrence, but it does happen. Probably explains why some of us have been waiting 2+ months or more. 

 

They actually lost 3 containers overboard in that accident. As if supply wasn’t bad enough right now. Brutal.

8 to 12 weeks on most stuff is what I have been told to quote people.

I ordered a set of custom (shaft, lie, loft) blueprints Dec 22 and I haven't received an update. Shop told me they didn't think it would be much more than 5 weeks because the blueprint isn't one of their "popular" heads and they should have a good stock on those. We are at 5 weeks now so hoping it wont be much longer but really don't want to wait 5-7 more weeks.

Ordered 425 Max driver and five wood a week ago today and was told four weeks.

 

Since the original first ship date for pre-orders that I saw was 4 February I didn't think that inside two weeks of that date was too bad.

 

"New Normal" being what it is and all........

Local shop checked on my blueprints after 5 weeks and said ping had no update. Order status was "received, acknowledged" the same as it was 2 days after the order. Surprised they are not communicating better with their dealers on wait times for certain heads, shafts, grips etc or at least whether the factory has all the necessary components and order is waiting to be assembled or if they are waiting on components to arrive. My blueprints are probably at the bottom of the pacific 🙃.

I just ordered a Ping club two weeks ago and the dealer and Ping both stated four weeks.

Response from Ping 

"Thank you for your email to PING.  Blueprint irons have an estimated ship date of 8 weeks from the time or purchase.  If the purchase was on 1/1/21, then estimated ship out date would be 3/1/21. Your retailer that you purchased through will be able to give you the actual estimated date based on your purchase information. "

 

Me retailer said they are probably prioritizing all the new 425 stuff.

I placed an order for some blueprints on 1/12 and was told ship date is now 3/16. But I have a feeling that the date will get pushed back more

Every Authorized Retailer has access to the Ping Biz site.  They can look online to see where any order they have made is and dates.

I ordered a new Ping iron 19 days ago and it arrived today.  Ping and Golf Galaxy told me it would take 4 weeks.  As always Ping does an excellent job of delivering great service.

I checked in with the shop today and on the Ping Biz site it now says an estimated ship date of 3/16. So in 2 weeks since my inquiry with Ping where they said 8 weeks the ship date is now 12 weeks after order date. Maybe in 2 more weeks it will be 18 weeks 🙃. I know this year has been "unprecedented" (so sick of that) but you still have to run your business. I don't care if it is 18 weeks but just give people realistic information or "its on a boat and we will let you know a date when it arrives etc". Underpromise and overperform is always better than the opposite.

 

Its sad what these production delays have done to local golf shops. My local shop is just dying to get more product in to sell but some of the manufacturers are just not performing.

Likely some product that you want didn't make it out of China before Chinese New Year.  Customs and everything else shuts down for 3 weeks and nothing Ping can do about it.  Just one possible explanation for a sudden jump in time.

What can they really do though? It truly is "unprecedented". 

 

We had irons with a China ship date of 11/25. We still don't have them because of container shortages in China, and port problems in the US. Customers want time frames, and they do not take kindly to "we have no idea".

meanwhile their has been global supply chain interruptions across all industries, likely negatively impacting some of your wallets.

I ordered a G425 Max Driver on April 3rd, ETA is May 17th so not great but not terrible. Im sure it wont be any sooner but hopefully not much longer.

Can you tell me if you ordered your G425 Max Driver through a retail agent (who has an account with Ping) or directly yourself. The reason I ask is I ordered the same on the 9th of April and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow !!

I ordered a G425 LST driver through the local rep. It took 3 weeks to arrive at my doorstep.

On March 26th I ordered I said of ping 425 irons 5-P. My local shop told me it would be about 4 weeks and it’s now 4 1/2 weeks. I work at UPS and happen to work on the route that delivers to my golf shop, so every morning I get my hopes up when there not in. Hopefully they will be in soon and are worth the wait!!

Update. I just got mine in today over 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I guess miracles do happen!

I ordered mine through my sales rep. It was just delivered today though just under 1 month wait total and over 2 weeks ahead of schedule.

I just ordered a 425 Max with Tensei AV Raw Orange, regular 55, and was quoted June 23rd due to the shaft on backorder.  Two glide 3.0 wedges with AWT shafts due June 11.

On 2/16/21, Club Champion ordered 3 & 5 G425 Fairway Woods with custom shafts. The estimated shipping date for the clubs has slid from a March date to a late April date and as of today, 5/6, there has been no news for when they may arrive.
