Grindworks PR-202s (More PICS Added)

I am not a huge fan of Patrick Reed's but I can't hate a brand because they are associated with Reed. If I did that then I'd have to hate Artisan and Scotty, etc. as well. I was in between Miura TC201s and these but am glad I took the chance. 

 

They are a small CB around the size of the Miura TC201s/CB 1008s, minimal offset, 1 piece S20C Endo forged, and look great. The sole grind makes me think of Miura with the beveled leading edge with the PR202s being slighter thinner in the soles. Head weights are on the heavier side like Miura. Topline is compareable to the TC201s but the PR202s are probably ever so slightly thicker in the topline.

 

I wanted a set of irons from a company that wasnt going to release a new product in a year that was super simple and clean. The CNC mill marks on the back is a nice touch while keeping it classy. I think they did a nice job with these and the MB101s that Reed uses.

 

Grindworks USA was great to work with as well. Ordered last week and showed up yesterday. They can do just about any shaft/grip combination with some shafts being upcharge.

I think it was $1700 + tax/shipping for 3-PW.

Just looked back and that amount was correct. Everything including tax/shipping was around $1900 or $237 per. Close but slightly cheaper than most Miura's.

Vmann yeah I agree the 1008s and 202s look very similar.

I ordered mine with Modus3 120Xs. They are pretty responsive through email as well as their Instagram.

They look fantastic!  Funny you posted this op because I was looking at their website last night.  Great craftsmanship!  Curious to hear some feedback after a few rounds.  They should feel nice and crisp.

Yeah hope to play Monday but its been 30 degrees and snowing in TN. Honestly in the hand its just quality that you can tell, kindof like when you pickup NCWs, Epon, or Miuras. They just feel and look different being S20C,  compared to mass produced forged offerings from like Mizuno, Srixon, etc.

 

Not trying to take anything from Mizuno because I am coming from 921 Tours or Srixon as they are great irons but 1025 steel just doesnt have the same denseness feeling to me in the hand.

I agree. I chose them over the Miura TC201s and also told myself I wasnt going to buy another set.

7 iron stock is 33⁰. I weakened it to 34.

Certainly not GI but definitely not a blade. I'd put them in the Miura TC201/1008, TM P7MC, or Mizuno 921 Tour arena as far as size/offset. Soles are thinner but the topline is slightly thicker than the TC201s.

 

I'm coming from 921 Tours so would definitely say they are slightly more confidence inspiring than them but then again no difference heel to toe or topline really.
