He manipulated the rules perhaps. Still slimy and not ethical. Been playing competitive golf nearly 30 years and never have touched my ball without my playing partners observation first.

he informed his partners. There is no requirement to observe. The players could have told hold to wait until they got there.

And you don’t have to read and respond to my posts. If you truly believe that ball embedded then stop responding. Form your own opinion.

Really. If you post it out there it’s fair game to be responded to. You’re the one who said it can’t happen. Which has been said over and over again. In spite of people who are actually players and officials saying  they’ve seen it happen. So the video proved absolutely nothing. That’s not my opinion, that is a fact.

And you dont have an issue with that? Im sure tiger “informed” elin nothing was going on too... 🤷‍♂️ Its the spirit of the game to have someone else look. Period.

You are theorizing what happened based on what others have seen happened in other situations, that is the definition of an opinion. Unless you were there and saw/felt that ball yourself, then it’s still your opinion. Even the video is all the visual evidence we have to make our own opinion. Patrick Reed is the only one who knows, for a fact, what happened because he moved the ball. I’m not arguing that he didn’t do that in accordance with the rules as they exist, and I’m not arguing with what you want to believe, that’s totally up to you and I have no problem with it.  But you’ve already made up your mind and have no interest in hearing information that contradicts your opinion, so allow other people to form their own.

not at all. He informed them. It’s there option to observe or not. That’s on them. Not reed.

You called him a “scumbag” and said he cheated but you aren’t arguing he didn’t follow the rules?

I’m actually in agreement with you. I don’t know if he cheated or not. What I’ve been saying all along is there simply isn’t irrefutable evidence that he did cheat. And that according the rules, he proceeded properly.

I’m surprised that people are defending Craptain America as much as they are.

Did he break the rules, as he explained it? No.

But everything about how he handled it; bending down to fumble with the ball, moving it beforehand, pushing the grass (allegedly) to worsen his lie, whether within the rules or not is just plain BS and not within the moral compass of what golf is about.

He’s a clown, but unfortunately, he’s so good that he’s going to be around and in the hunt.

At least I have even more of a reason to root for the European side in the Ryder Cup now, unless he’s off the team then go ‘Mercia.

BS. If I’m in a comp and my group communicates there isn’t a need to observe everything up close. If there is a question call an official if available. Reed did that. All done by the rules and normal process.

All normal but all the backlash eh? This aint normal. No integrity

You’d root against the U.S. Ryder Cup team just because he’s on it?

I hope he’s not, but those are quite different views.

I don’t disagree. That would be the smart way to do it. Especially for him. But according to the rules, no one else does need to see it. See Rory’s situation just a short time later.

Well thats a stupid rule. Unless the pga tour encourages  cheating. Or maybe they should just cut the crap and do away with play it as it lies, and play everything up.
