This is a long game. Your swing might be efficient already. Thus you might not see these short gains that people post here and spammed on Twitter feeds. Majority of people clean up their swing when they start and grab some early gains. But from there it’s a marathon not a sprint.

You need to set goals 1-2 years ahead.

year 1: gains 4-6 MPh

year 2: gains 3-4 MPh

Year 3: gains ….

So if I max out gains on that schedule the equation looks like:  6+4+x=y.

If logically x=2, then y=12.

I’ll be 67y/o by then, and a 12mph gain at that stage in life will make me a miracle of modern medicine.

Possible, maybe; likely…sometimes the clock works against such long term thinking. 🤔

Yikes. I am 46 now. So I do need to be proactive with age related distance. Spending more time in the gym now, but like everyone else with limited available time you need to set priorities. Makes me wonder if yoga or other specialized workout would be just as beneficial with greater rewards outside of golf.

I’m similar age as you. Been doing speed, strength and mobility on/off since 2020.

The older we get, we need to spend more time on mobility. So yes, yoga would be high priority and gave gains.

However, I would also spend time on speed and strength.

Time is an issue for everyone. But 10 min is better than zero work.

Speed is easy to implement in a range session. 5-10 min is fine. Use Stack flex as an easier option. Consistency is key here. Muscle tissues takes months to build.

With two gym sessions a week - you are fine on strength.

Obviously, potential depends on your current level in terms of technique, fitness and speed.

If you are new to strength and speed work. 12 MPh in three year are not that far away. Even at the age of 67. Could also half of that which is better than loss of CHS…

I’m not new to any of this.  Got into speed training a few years ago when I saw a huge drop off in distance, both on course and as a measured on a reliable simulator.  At the time, I was using the protocols recommended with the MaxSwingSpeed trainer along with other YouTube stuff, and I did regain some of what I’d lost.

I’m still not satisfied, however, so I’ve returned to a more focused speed training approach, along with all the other stuff I’ve been doing forever in the gym.  Just yesterday, prior to a sim league round, I was seeing anywhere between 102 and 105mph cruising speed (with ball) while warming up.

So to think I could add another 12mph on top of that is almost unimaginable to me, as that would put me right there with at least one of the “kids” on my sim team.

At what point does mental determination  fall second to physical inevitability?  Everyone is different, I know, so I guess we’ll see when that is for me.

A cruising speed of 102-105 with ball is pretty good!

Last night in my winter range gear I hit my highest ss of the offseason and the second highest ever. I PRd at 116 end of last March, indoors but a couple last night really popped. I dont love going after them with frozen range balls though so I quit soon after this.

Curious now what your cruising speed is making centered contact. Your smash is really low here so if you CENTER it hit damn.

ROFL its around 110 on course right now but honestly man, I cant tell you how little I care about my ball speed or smash factor when its 40* outside and the two piece range balls have been sitting outside overnight/all day.

That’s fair. When it warms up curious how the big stick goes for you. The speed work I did last year was eye opening. Couple that with ongoing swing work and speed maintenance this offseason and I expected a bigger jump with more centered contact. Good luck!

Yeah, when it’s cold, they go nowhere and have absolutely no speed. 157 ball speed would be more of a 106-107 SS. You were at 114 SS there so on a warm day, that would be really good ball speed!

I just picked this up. When I went to activate, I got this error. Has anyone seen this before?

EDIT: reached out to TheStack company and they said a batch of serials weren't put into their database. They were able to correct. I'll keep this here in case someone else runs into this issue.

I believe I discovered part of the problem with my setup.  With the SSR, if I swing a bit high (I did this on occasion to make sure I didn’t hit the radar) the reading is a bit higher than swinging right past the front.  It may account for some real flyers on the high end of readings… really wish my GC3 read no impact swings..

Would be sweet if it was somehow Bluetooth and/or could replace the screw on yellow end piece and read/upload speed somehow to app.

This is why I love the integration with the Mevo+. It automatically uploads your numbers into their app!

FYI - it looks like their coupons work on the new radar too.

Why do you say radar based off that

One of the comments to which they replied somewhat affirmatively said "bluetooth radar."

So they've got enough time and money to R&D their own radar system - but they still cant make an Android app?

I mean, I think it's just a white label better-component PRGR with Bluetooth.

Not sure if anyone follows Tre’ Mullins on Instagram but he posted about a TPI Throwing Protocol and “speed primer” as he called it and showed what he did before sessions. I did find a pack of weighted balls on Amazon and did left and right throws/holds before my stack session and shattered some PRs for 0g, 60, 120, 220g, and 195 twice. Pretty pumped and will keep working in these throws for a few weeks!

Does anyone know if you have referral code credits at your subscription renewal if you have to take any action to redeem them or if it automatically doesn't charge you the $99 in the apple app store?

Heard back from Stack. They mentioned if you have referral credits to cancel the apple annual renewal and it will work with your credits. they do not allow transferring credits to friends or family unfortunately.

Wow, do you also know which Amazon throwing ball set you purchased? See some weights close to what he was throwing but not exact.
