Anyone else sick of winter and lousy weather??

I played today.  Man, it was cold on the first few holes.  Big sun but it was about 35°F with 20 mph winds.  I jogged to my ball on the first hole to try and warm up and my hands were getting numb.  Good thing my hand warmer was working warmed the up.  By the 7th hole I was comfortable.  Supposed to be in the 60s next week. Thankfully.

I hate to gripe because many of you in the North go for months without playing due to weather. I don't see how you do it without going nuts. It's been really wet and cool here in NC almost all Winter. We've been playing but it hasn't been much fun. I don't mind the cold as long as it's in the high 40s with some sun and no wind. I just really hate playing when the course is soaked.

Yeah, I'm sick of winter, unfortunately now we are having some good weather, but there's still snow on the ground. It looks like the weather will be good for the foreseeable future and I'm hoping some courses will open up shortly. Of course the weather could very well change and I'm guessing mid April will be the earliest I can get on a course.

Having access to a golf dome has helped immensely.

Being here in NC, i don't expect much sympathy, but it's been a very wet winter. The last few years, when a front comes in, it stays for a bit. It used to be that we would have a rainy day, now the rain comes in for 3-5 days. I think we are in for a good stretch of dry weather, and we really need it.

February in the North East has been horrible.  The ground was covered with snow for the entire month and at least a week in January.  Finally the weather is starting to break.  I don't mind golfing in the cold as long as the wind is not howling.

To the extent that it minimizes crowded slow rounds, I love cold bad weather.

Here in STL we've had the temps to play (50's and 60s) but its the damn rain keeping me away.  Not that it hasnt been dry some days but when its dry it's rained the 3 days leading up to the dry day.  I dont want to 'waste' a round playing in slop as I figure I only have so many bullets to use with my wife who stays home with our 1 and 4 yr olds.

 

I did play on a beautiful day on March 4 at Buffalo Ridge at Big Cedar.  That only compounded the problem as that was my first real round of the season and now i'm dying.  If I never played that round I probably wouldn't be this anxious.  Not to mention my back 9 there was great, not a single penalty off the tee.

Definitely. It was 77 and sunny two weeks ago here in SoCal. Yesterday it was 43 with 30-40mph winds. I'm over it. Bring the summer!

Just when the weather warms up, here comes the monsoons. It rains so much the mud never stops. It is hard for courses to grow good grass when the soil is always inundated with rain.
