Changed putters and that didn’t work. Back to the PLD Anser!

Played last Wednesday, and I cant seem to have once consistent part of my game.  My last round I drove the ball decent but couldn't play my irons, but on this round I couldn't get off the tee box.  On #13 I hit 4 consecutive balls OB (I just took net double and went on to #14).  On the plus side, I hit 7 greens 3/4 on the par 3s.  The putter wasn't great though. Six 3-putts was a killer.  Two of them weren't "bad" three putts as I was putting across 2 zip codes.  One of these days I'm gonna put it all together.

Yesterday - 4 bogeys, 1 birdie, 13 pars = 75, +3 

Today - 3 bogeys, 0 birdies, 15 pars = 73, +3

 

30 putts both days, only 10 GIR both days.

71 gross yesterday. 4 birdies, 4 bogeys, 10 pars. Team comp but holed out on every green. Won £100. New 54 wedge will be on order.

Today was a couple lipouts from breaking 80 kinda day. 😑

Matchplay. One birdie. One bogey. 14 pars. One double and one triple from nowhere. Won 2 up after starting 8 down.

A nice even 50 last night (for 9 lol)

 

Man, I lost 4 or 5 shots on last putts. Came up an inch short or to the side. The golf gods are cruel gods.

2 over 73 with a triple on the card...got myself into a little trouble on 11. Oops

83 after a 90 last week . Pulled out my old Epic Flash and was dialed in on most of my drives. Reverted back to a more traditional golf swing as well instead of playing a very closed stance. Had a Triple and a double, 6 pars and 2 birdies and 3 putted on two other GIRs. Can’t wait till next time to see if it will falls apart or continues to get better.

39-37, 76 from the white tees for a personal best. First time breaking 80 - on my birthday! Had a hole out from 25 yards no one saw with 12 GIR and three 3-putts. Perfect weather and good partners made it a great round.

Shot a 94 on my home course - 22 stableford points, which equates to a +14 based on my hcp rating 😢. Had one of my best days off the tee with a near 70% FIR, and had a decent front 41 (17 pts, + 1 based on hcp), but then bottled it on the back with 0 (zero) GIR, and 3 lost balls for a 53 (5 pts).

 

I just couldn't hit my irons at all - looking back on the round, I can honestly say that I hit only 2 good iron shots over the entire 18 and these were on the front 9 - everything else, was a top, duff, chunk, pull, push - surprisingly no shanks 🤣🤣.

 

Ouch. To make matters worse, stuck behind a slow group so the round took 4.45 which is almost an hour more than we usually go around so the mental mind#¤%! was even longer. It got to the point where I was a nervous wreck with my irons.

 

5 years ago since I last shot a 90 on this course....been hovering around 80 the last 2 seasons.

This game man.  I fell into a snap hook round last week, and I couldn't shake it.  Refused to leave driver in the bag until it was fixed that day, and that never happened.  I shot over 100 for the first time in 3 years.  Next round out, I weakened my entire grip.  I shot +5(77) with an eagle and 3 birdies.  Just a subtle reminder that this game WILL humble you at times.

Managed a 41 on the front 9 and then the rain, hail, thunder and lightening forced us off at 15.

It was a pretty glorious 5 iron, I think it hit the flag but the green is elevated, so you can't see. But I swear I heard it

83 on a 6000 yard wide open course yesterday.  Three looks at birdie inside 8'; made zero.  Nothing remarkable.  Except this was my first real round with my youngest son (24) being a golfer.  Both sons played as kids, but he's just gotten serious about golf.  He had 95 (45-50).  Played well with 4 blow-up holes.  A good time.

39-45, 84 from a hybrid course set up. Absolutely striping driver right now. Last 4 holes were an absolute drag, but happy with the game right now.

79. 37, 42. Iron play was shocking apart from a hold off cut 6 iron to 10 foot on par 3. Won £15 for the two.

Even par...missed a two-footer on the first.  Pretty good apart form that brainfart.

78, playing from the tips in preparation for the members club championship. Really shot myself in the foot with a double bogey on a hole that has a dogleg off the tee opposite my shot shape.

Managed to win the monthly competition game by 5 shots

First round since December 26, 2021 and 2 range visits. Rough front at +7 then straightened up on the back at +1 for 78. TifEagle bermuda is not pleasant to learn on after a 6 month break.

Played an evening round yesterday at the home course. Beautiful conditions, very quiet, playing with a few guys I usually hit well with.

 

Absolutely brutal scoring day. Couldn't hit a fairway to save my life (4/14) and barely hit greens (4/18). Scrambled myself around to barely break 100. Forgettable round, but at least a beautiful day on the course.

96. It was a round that I felt I played better than the score.  I had a much better day off the tee. I hit 9 fairways but I had 1 OB and a lost ball off the tee.  A lot of pretty good stuff by my standards with.  38 total putts, 33% GIR. I missed a 15 foot eagle putt, but tapped in for birdie and 3 pars. For the bad, I missed a 2 ft par putt, had two shots inside 100 go 1/2 the distance I needed it, 3 three putts, two triples and a quad. 
 

If I can clean up a few mistakes, I can be sub 90. 
 

Probably saw 20+ deer today too.

91 - Another brutal round in cold wet conditions. 3 balls OB/lost, and putting was atrocious - easily 5 shots could have been saved just on the green. To be honest, game is all over the place at the moment...

Only if I could hit an iron, I might have broke 80 for the first time ever. 

My wedges and putter are saving me right now.
