Matchplay. Four over through sixteen. Won 3/2. Our greenkeeper is a sadist. Some shocking pins considering Tuesday is Ladies Day at our club.

Played 9 yesterday, 39 with two doubles...

Played yesterday and OB killed me again. 98 with 4 lost balls/OB (3/4 were on second shots) Two shots from the same bunker didn’t help either. On the plus side, I only 3 putted once and I was demolishing the ball with my driver.

82. Personal best. Crushed the driver all day but couldn’t find the speed on the greens.

Par on 1 after topping my drive and hit a 3w onto the green for my second shot. Then 2-8 was an absolute disaster. Was +22, highlighted by 5 shots from the same bunker, and was very close to leaving.  
 

Hole 9 I hit my 5i a little thin but the ball ran up to about 8 ft from the pin.  I made the putt and my luck turned (a little bit).  I did make a triple on 15 and a double on 18, but the rest were bogey or better. Ended with a 104, which is bad, but after the 58 on the front, I can live with it.

Personal best from the back tees, 67.

 

Had 2 doubles on the front, one was an OB, but made 3 birdies so finished with a 37.

 

Back nine was ridiculous, shot my lowest 9 ever, a 30.  Scrambled for par on 10 and 11, then 6 birdies in a row, then drove in a fw bunker on 18, hit it short right of the green then chipped to a foot.  On the back only two putts made over 6-8 ft, one birdie was 2 putt after hitting a good 3w on from 240 out on a par 5, 10 putts total on the back.

 

On memorial day shot 43 on the same 9.......

45-41, 86. Started +2 through 6 and finished the last 6 +2, so the middle third was rough. Weather was not great for most of the round but never felt comfortable on the greens all day and that added up in the end.

Had our yearly CC vs CC two day tournament.  48 members from each club

Coming off a lesson Friday I shot 86/84.  Didn't get any practice sessions in to implement the lesson concepts so I'll take it. 

 

...and we won!

87 in a club event. Played decent but few mistakes. 4 putted from 8 feet, shanked driver OB, hit hybrid backwards OB, couple chunked shots.

Matchplay. Went to 18th. Shot 75 and lost one down. Giving seven shots to a very consistent opponent. Really enjoyed the match.

Second round back after injury - 83 caught some bad breaks. Such is Golf. Just happy to be back playing after a long grueling month and a half off

+5 on a par 57 today. Hit my irons great besides a couple pulls. Finished -1 on the last 4 holes. 8 inches from hole in 1. Closest ever for me

1 under 70 yesterday evening. 

 

Made a horrible double bogey on #2- second shot was just off the green and it just popped out, left me with a quick downhill 10 foot putt and I then missed that coming back. 

 

Recovered well, went on to make 5 birdies for the day, even par front- 1 under back.

I played my best round for the year and it was all because of the Eagle I got when I holed out from just under 100 yds. with my GW on the last hole. I Shot  -2 for a 34 1 boogie, 2 birdies 1 eagle hit 6.7 fairways hit 7/9 GIR and had 14 putts. I can't remember when the last time I got an eagle with an iron shot, Usually if I do get one which is very rarely I'm putting for one.

31 on a par 30 last night, 2 birdies, 3 bogies, lost my chance to break par or even on 9 for not accounting for the wind on my final approach shot. 

 

Oh well I'll take it, feeling my swing again just need to get the long game going.

New best 42 for 9 holes and 91 for 18 on wednesday.   It has been a long while since I last posted in this thread with a new best score.  Mid 2018 I lost my "game".  Tried different sets of clubs in 2019, and didn't quite have it.  I didn't get to play much in 2020, but I think I figured out that the frames on my glasses were getting in the way by the end of the year.  Next year with different glasses and a new focus on the back of the ball, I started to play better.  This year, I've been playing my best since 2018, and I really hope to keep marching on and break 40.
