Had a week off to rest some aches and pains. Refereed a final at our club. Excellent match and sportsmanship. Great to see four players enjoying themselves despite playing for silverware and prize money.

Had a bit of a mixed bag this weekend.

 

On the saturday, played a course id never played before. It was in terrible condition and weather wasnt great. I wasnt enjoying myself and shot 79. Very disappointed. Course was bland as anything and I just couldnt focus at all, was glad it was over when it ended.

 

Then on the Sunday, played a much better course, par 72 6,550 yards off back tees so not overly long, but tricky off the tee with some tricky positional shots and some tricky greens, played really nicely shot 74 and missed a couple of short putts, one for a birdie on 7th and one for par on 12th so could have been lower but all in all for this time of year was happy with that.

Played Sunday at the Bear Trace at Harrison Bay near Chattanooga. 

Chopped up the first handful of holes and went out in 45. Got my head on straight and had a 39 on the back with one birdie. 

 

My index revision this morning hurt. 9.9 > 10.0 🙂

Last day of league subbing. I had to give opponent a shot on every hole. 😆 

 

4 bogeys, 4 birdies and one par. It was an interesting 9.

79 but quit an easy course. Par 71 shot 39 and then a 40, no birdies the back was interesting a triple bogey on one hole and a 3 putt bogey on a par 4.

Shot a very uninspiring 95 yesterday with a ton of mistakes and really struggling for concentration, then bounced back today and shot a career low of 82. Annoyingly my Garmin told me I was only five over through nine, and felt a fair bit of pressure on the back nine. In spite of two double bogeys (one was an absolute comedy par 3 farce) I held on to card my lowest ever score.

 

I can now totally see how conservative, smart golf can lead to breaking 80. Hopefully I can continue to card mid/low 80s and get into the 70s some time soon. I feel like the major difference today was not being afraid to putt from 10-15yds off the green as my chipping/pitching just wasn't on today. Very proud of the round today, even if lots of folks here card way lower all the time, having just re-started playing golf in June after a ten year layoff and formerly career lowest handicap of 18.

yesterday, 73, double on the first then 16 pars and finished with a chip in birdie on the last.

Tetherow - 100

 

Overall amazing courses, weather and company. My longest drive (295) and back-to-back birdies on Tetherow were the highlights. Pronghorn Nicklaus was immaculate and Fazio is an absolute gem of a course. Tetherow was very challenging, maybe the hardest course I've played to date. Great annual trip and looking forward to the next one.

Bit fake though as it wasnt pressuring me off the tee.

The ground was so dry and hard.. I was hitting 300 yard drives..

Another new record today! 2 bogeys from 50 yards in the fairway and a 3 putt on the last hole in the dark cause I couldn't see a ridge behind the hole

Team comp so didn't hole out on every hole. New G430 17 degree hybrid blooded. Solid feel and forgiving. Chipping good. Rest utter drivel. About to book a course of winter lessons and Pilates classes.

Went around a nice 9 hole par III course twice, holes range from 120 down to 67 yards with well kept greens. +4 the first round, +2 the second. Very happy about the second, Im good inside 150 overall. Its my favorite part of the game

41 - 37, 78. Third time under 80 I believe. Couple of birdies and nearly holed out from 175. Beautiful weather and good company made it a great day.

Personal best 82 (Par 70, differential 8.7).  Shot a 39 (first 9 under 40) on the front and 43 on the back.  I had a birdie on each side but unfortunately had 4 double bogeys, 3 of which were on the back. Trending in the right direction after picking up golf 3 years ago at age 39.  Really want to get to a single digit handicap.  I've gone from 16.2 to 12.7 in a year, but don't know how much I'll be playing for the next several months so we'll see.

I played solid golf overall but somehow managed to chop up three of the par threes which added about 5-6 extra strokes to my score.

Shot my best 81 this morning. Golf is a wonderfully frustrating game, I always feel like I'm unable to put together an overall consistent day. Getting off the tee was difficult, but I was saved by my approach almost every single non-par3.

Swift 8 holes in a 3 ball. 65 minutes flat. 32 shots. Ball was going in a straight line.

86 on the tougher of the two courses at my club.  Driver and putter were awful, irons and wedges good. 6 months ago, I'd have a shot a 96 the way I was hitting off the tee so that's progress.
