Has anyone here played the Gailes in the last few years, If so how were the conditions?  I had heard they completely let their other nice course fall apart.

I was able to get out on Wednesday at Port Huron Elks Lodge.  Gorgeous day though it was mega windy.  Few loose swings but overall was decent.  Course in good shape for mid April.  Greens slow but to be expected.

I played 73 holes last week and collectively shot -3.

 

Just an awesome start to the season, and the best part is my son is starting to get into it too.

If anyone here on the East side of the Detroit area, and is a low single-digit handicap looking to play some competitive matches, the Publinx team at Twin Lakes is looking for a couple of players to round out their roster. Here's info from the thing sent out by the guy who runs the team play.

Team play is competitive, but pretty relaxed, and it's a good way to get involved in some competitive golf against some good players in the area.

I’d look into doing it yourself. It’s actually quite simple and you can see how it’s done on YouTube or something. I do all my clubs myself now.

Nah, just some heat and an oven mitt works fine.

If you're looking to pull steel iron shafts, a shaft puller won't be necessary. Just a heat gun or blowtorch and a grilling glove (or an oven mitt), and you can heat up the hosel enough to loosen the epoxy, and you can easily twist the head free of the shaft. You might need a drill or wire brush to clean out leftover epoxy from inside the necks of the heads. Then you'd need some ferrules and epoxy to glue the new shafts into the heads, and you'd be good to go. 

You'd need a shaft puller if you're working with graphite shafts, as twisting anything off the end can damage the shaft, but with steel, that's not an issue.

Lee at DeWulf Custom Clubs and Repair in the Evolution Sportsplex on Opdyke Rd. Auburn Hills.  Been in the biz for 30 years.  I do my own reshafting, but I've had him do other club work.

So this is terrible. I got out once that week it was really nice out. And now my weather app has rain or cloudy and 50 degrees in my 10 day forcast🤬but for some reason it’s not gonna rain in Detroit tomorrow! And is high if 64?!?!?!!!🙃🥳🤩  I guess sense decent weather isn’t coming to me I’ll goto it! Now I just need to find a course. Maybe a few ppl to play with.

Hey if anyone on here ever needs a 4th or just want someone to go with I live in Marlette  but I’ll drive to Oakland county macomb county lapeer county… my dad got me into golfing and he just had shoulder surgery so he’s out this year, and I don’t know many ppl that golf or want to golf as much as me!

Well I managed to tear my labrum in the most embarrassing way possible (Throwing a golf club). Anyone have a great recommendation for an Ortho? Willing to drive as far as it takes on a good referral. I have not been impressed with the two surgeons I've used in the past.
