I want to say that I don't believe this thread has EVER seen such feverish action in the 5 years we have been doing it. It just continued to hum along with fantastic content during both playoff games today.

Our group made this special day of NFL action even better.

We old dudes that have been watching  pro football since the days of Fran Tarkenton and Terry Bradshaw have to be mighty grateful as we now get to watch 3 young fabulous QB's in the NFL. It is a shame though that only two of them got to advance this weekend because all three had mighty admirable performances.

I know this! The team I was high on in the beginning of the season is playing in the conference championship game and the heavy pre season favorites the Packers, Cardinals, Bucs and Cowboys will be watching them try and pull off an upset of the free agents who went to pro bowls team the L.A Rams...not rooting for them.  It's like the NBA when a star player goes to a big media city the rest come running.  Go Niners!  

 

The young guns rule the day in the AFC  

Josh Allen might have been on the losing team but he is no loser by a long shot.  Patrick MaHomes is flirting with legendary status.  One more ring should seal the deal.  4 straight AFC Championship games. Joe Burrow, Allen, MaHomes the Future is Now kids.  

Good bye Brady and Rodgers.  I think Rodgers jinxed himself by lying about the vaccine.  Everyone loves the Packers but all I can say in the last 30 years they have been blessed with back to back Hall of Fame Qb's and only have 2 Super Bowl rings.

The Niners drafted Alex Smith ahead of Rodgers and have been to more Super Bowls since. And they are 4-0 against Rodgers in the playoffs.

 

On a lighter note 

We got introduced to the clutch special teams play of one Evan McPherson who was a kicker extraordinaire even in college

I bet I knew about Gabriel Davis before any casual fan watching tonight's Bills/Chiefs game.  Picked him up in my fantasy league based on his athleticism.  He just needed more touches and then Josh Allen started finding him later in the season.  He has skills.

to put it in perspective how rare that is for a place like Chapman. Currently it’s around a 900 student school grade 9-12.   And it’s not a rich school.  It’s actually founded as a mill village school.  Literally was  for folks kids who worked in the cloth mill.  Like the song lyric “ sold my soul to the company store”.  Those people all payed rent to the “ company “ bought from the company store and sent their kids to the company school.  You either worked in that mill. Or farmed.  That’s it.    
 

So to have a football team travel to california during some of those original folks lifetimes , is a huge deal.  Huge.  
 

i didn’t know it as I’m not an original Inman person.  I didn’t go to Chapman.  My wife did.  Chapman was a rival school to me.  I only started taking notice as my wife ( who is a bigger football fan than I ) would drag me to see Debo play.  Only took a couple games for me to start to want to go watch him.  But I still wouldn’t wear their colors.  Lol. Too much competitor in me.  
 

Another cool connection.  Debos coach at Chapman mark hodge.  He’s moved onto a better coaching job , but they still live close by.   His wife is my 13 year olds language arts teacher.  She was the “team mom “ of those Chapman teams.  And regularly had all those boys in her house for meals etc.  

 

i asked my boy about that one day and he said miss Hodge texts Debo every week , and  she tells him “  how good he did or what he can do better “ ….. and always reminds him to “remember where you came from” and “ behave yourself “. He always responds with a couple lines that start with “ yes ma’am and a couple hearts ♥️…..”    and usually will give her something to tell her classes , etc.  something to keep them connected.  She then shares this with every class.    So they all have a personal interest I guess you’d say in the pride .    
 

Anyway I geek out I know. but you don’t run across people who are that genuine often.  I know I saw him on the sideline at at least 3 home football games this past season.  

Very cool blade. The game was broadcast on one of the ESPNs, so ESPN flipped the bill (airfare/lodging) for Chapman to come out.
