Yeah Sanchez went from #6 pick to Kate Upton to hurt to released and not much else if memory serves. He should of stayed in College one more year. Pete Carroll was correct.

I always wonder this, and there really is no answer since you can't study it in parallel universes, but what if...

What if LeBron played college?  Would he be even better as a pro?  Kobe?  Or someone like Jeff George who appeared to be overmatched on a personal level upon entering the NFL and never really got a handle on it.

I rail against college football because of the injury risk for little to no pay, but I also think more complete people come out after 4/5 years of college.

I agree. Going from an H.S. 18 yo to mass stardom is kinda like a black hole. So much going on and so little worldly experience and maturity. Tough to grow imo.

And how about  in the before picture's they look like they experienced a hard evening of swillin' bourbon the night before and those pics were taken with an iphone 2, and then in the after pics that have had a professional make up artist do their faces up and those photo's were shot in a professional photographers studio.  😜

I think this was true and still might be true as a whole.  But there are some super talented people like Kobe and LeBron who would have been nuts not to come out.  Risking a career ending injury, or draft stock decline to stay 4 years.  The NCAA is a racket and for that matter unless you have a clear cut career planned, college is kind of a scam also.  I definitely agree that players are much more mature when they wait to come out.  Also, the colleges who recruit the best players are aware they need to run NFL style offenses or play in highly competitive conferences like the SEC to attract the studs who leave early.

Hallelujah !  once again it's time for LP to tee it up. 

 

I last played golf two weeks ago. The 10 inches of snow that we received on the 15th of the month put all golf in the western North Carolina mountains on hold. After our snow storm it remained cold here in Asheville and very little melting occurred. Over the last 4 days it has gotten warm enough to make most of the white stuff disappear. For a dude who is accustomed to playing and practicing numerous times a week this semi lengthy stretch of not touching a club has been depressing. It has been my longest lay off since last winter. Stan and I are heading down to Gamecock land tomorrow to play with Mike and Erik at Links O' Tryon. I will be a tad rusty so it will be interesting to see what score I post, but for this round at least I won't be wearing 4 layers. Instead of confidence I am going in only with gratitude for our change in weather that will enable me to get my 5th round in this month and hang with my golf buddies.
