I gotta say, the 902 OS looks amazing for a GI iron.  It's basically the same iron as the PD, just bigger and bent stronger.  The fact they kept the same offset as the PD is a huge plus as well.

I pre-ordered a set of the 902 OS last month. Already have the OG 902s. I don’t know if the OS qualifies as a GI iron as it is only 10 percent larger than the 902, which is quite compact. I look at it as a true forged, slightly larger player’s iron. Looking forward to giving them a go and comparing them to the 902s, which are excellent. All of the New Level irons feel great.

I guess you're right.  It's kind of nebulous how they're marketing it with the "OS" label which traditionally suggest a more GI type of club.  Regardless, it's a great looking iron.  Please let us know how they play once you've received along with any comparison you can give if possible.

I received my 902-PD heads and I have to say they are about the same size as my Srixon ZX7s.  I expected them to be a bit larger so I may have a conflict and possibly should have

went with the 902-OS.  I built them up already and when the epoxy cures I'll snap a few photos.  This is the only disadvantage of buying without actually seeing in person.

I’ve been torn between the Zx7 and the 902-PD for the last couple of days. Went all last season bouncing around between a few of my old sets and want something new this year. Looking forward to see those photos!

The PW compared to my Srixon ZX7. It will be awhile before I can actually play the 902 PD so I'll wait and see how they play. Looks wise the ZX7 wins the PW .  I believe this is 2.0 mm vs 1.8mm .

One of the first sets I’ve seen. They look really great. I’m sure the ZX7s are nice but I like the NL wedge more. A slightly more compact looking head, which I like overall but definitely in the wedge.

The 902s definitely have an ‘art deco’ look to them as a previous poster observed. Look cool but still clean. Look forward to your reports.

I like the shape of the 902 PW. I could play that. The 902PD hopefully outperform the originals. Those originals are some great irons.

I’d like to see some side by side pics of the PD and the OS. Launch monitor data on the 4-6 would be sweet too.

Hind Site is 20/20 and I would have ordered the OS most likely had I known the PD is about identical to my ZX7s.  The PW resembles my Mizuno Tzoid Pro II pw in shape  where the hosel meets the inside of the head so I think I'll get used to it 🙂

I say play ‘em. You might be fine. The ZX7 is not a small clubhead, I’d label it medium. Ping Blueprints and Callaway TCB, those are small. I expect to have the 902 OS delivered this week and I can post comparison photos with the original 902. I don’t have a PD head but it is the same size as the OG 902 with less offset. I never had any issues with the medium offset in the originals, but I go against the WRX silly anti-offset crusade. I like to see enough offset to frame the ball and it does not affect dispersion at all. (Players need an excuse to blame their pull hooks on.😉)

Funny, I almost went with the PD to get the same head size as the originals but went with the OS because I figured a 10 percent proportional increase in size might look good. And Eric Burch told me some really skilled players tested the 902 OS prototypes and gave them excellent reviews.

NL gave it the “over size” moniker but I don’t think it really fits into what I think of as over sized clubs. I remember the King Cobra OS irons — now those

were large! These are simply a little larger than the originals.

Congrats on those irons. They exude elegance.

The slightly larger version, the 902-OS, arrived last night — and with KBS TOUR shafts. They look beautiful. Finish and elegant look are nice. So is the sole — they a very subtle leading edge grind — and they have cool milled notches in the toe and heel of the sole. Here are a few photos, 5 and 9 irons. I can do some comparison photos later with the OG 902, MP18 MMC and Bridgestone Tour B CB if people are interested.

5 iron at address.

They look great...  I'm interested in the comparison photos.  I was afraid that the soles would be too wide for my liking but I was probably wrong and should have went with the OS to

differentiate from my ZX7.

I think the OS are the best irons for the money in that category/size.  Great looking irons at address and feel is awesome.  Might be lacking in technology and mishits compared to the big name golf manfs.  but for the price you can’t beat them.  Can’t say enough about the quality and the company!

Yeah I get the compEZ vibes as well.  In no way do I think these should be labeled OS though…maybe midsize lol.

the new pd irons really look nice.   not sure which i would like better, the OS or the regular pd.   currently have bridgestone  j40 dpc.   eric at new level said the os is slightly larger, and the bstone are plenty large, but not sure how much smaller the regular pd would be compared.   any help appreciated.    think i'll take advantage and do the 7 iron demo though.

As per Eric, GW coming end of Feb/early March.

I imagine most people playing these type irons would combo with a 48* vokey.

Thanks for the info and that's great news , I am intrigued by these irons, but given the loft a gap wedge in this set is in reality a PW to me who grew up with 49-50 degree PW, and I have always played set PWs.  Can i order a demo 7 iron  built with my shaft and specs? I realize it would be nonrefundable being custom.

You can order the demo irons with a handful of their shaft offerings, and have built to your preferred length and lie.

In the previous gen NL 902, long iron heads were bit smaller than shorter iron heads (e.g., 5i vs 9i). I guessed that NL did this to make longer iron heads lighter but at the same time it was bit off putting and always thought it should have been the other way around.  It ended up becoming one of the reasons why I sold the set.

Do you know whether it’s still the case for the new 902 OS? thanks for the help

Oh man, now I’ve got to post those comparison pics I promised to post.

You raise an interesting point. I had not thought about that but I’m going to take a look. I have both sets. There are differences between the two models, subtle but the OS look different from address, not just bigger. Very similar to Bridgestone J40 DPC in the 6 iron. I took them to a store yesterday to find their closest match in profile. I mean, they’re still not ‘large” irons, would no doubt be a midsized club.

This may help on progression. One close match in overall head size I found was the Cobra King Tour MIMs, a midsized players iron whose profile I always have liked, and here are those photos, to give players a reference. (I’ll separately post a few shots of the original 902 vs the 902 OS 5 irons to show blade length change.)

Here the Cobra is on left. I flipped them because the camera can play tricks and sometimes position makes one look bigger than the other. Gives you both looks. 9 irons.

6 irons. Cobra is overall thinner, a little more forgiveness with the New Level, which also has that sweet gentle softening of the leading edge.

9 irons

I didn’t take photos comparing the back of the irons because it doesn’t really matter, but New Level wins that in a landslide. The Cobras are great irons, not nearly as stylish. The milling and finish on the 902OS is gorgeous.

Just bought 902-PD PW-4i, 50 degree wedge, and 21 degree utility to dub in /out w the 902-PD 4i.  Went Steelfiber 110 S in all except utility which I ordered with Hzrdus RDX Red 80 6.0.  Can’t wait for them.

Bought a demo 902-PD and 18 degree utility and was tremendously impressed. Replacing 790 ‘21.  I greatly missed a beautiful forged club look and feel.

Hey guys I was curious to get some input here as I am not the most knowledgeable golfer here but I did a fitting recently and got along well with the t300 and hot metal pros (preferred the blade length of the t300), I am a mid handicapper with a toe miss mid 80s swing speed, for you guys that have tested a number of clubs and hit 902s am I going to be out of my depth if I pick up a set of the 902os?

yep, couldn't agree more. I don't like either the stamping or the paintfil. If I bought these, the first thing I would do is get out the paint stripper and remove it all.

Yep, I got tired of waiting on my set of T100-S set so I pulled the trigger on a set of the 902-PD (6-PW) and really like them. First thing I did was removed part of the paint fill on the badging and hosel (left the 902-PD paint in place). Love the sound and feel of these irons.  My only compliant is the PW sole is a little wider than I prefer and will be going with a different PW.
