Yealimi should have played this week, played Indonesia (like Tiff Chan) and skipped Canada.  Doherty is making her move, a couple of others could pass her in the Globe Standings also this week.  She has no chance in a stronger Canadian field. 

 

Edit - nvm. Didn't see Hana Bank was one of the main sponsors next event. She needs to wine and dine with them before they dump her for Andrea Lee or upstart Thai player next season 😂

Here is the challenge that these women face playing in Indonesia and then trying to play in Ottawa.  The flight segments below do not even include the connecting flight from Toronto to Ottawa.   Perhaps they can fly into Montreal and then Ottawa, but I doubt the time would be much less.  

 

It can take a few days to overcome the jetlag . . . 

 

But if they play then that would be great . . . I just remember a couple of years ago that a few of them went to the Hana Bank event in Korea and skipped the CP Women's Open.

A private jet will be well worth the money for those who have means and maybe these players took the event just to have access to a private jet.  From what I'm see online and reading arrivals/departures at our international airports is a nightmare right now, best of luck to all the ladies coming and going to this event lol

Yes, having come from an ocean or two recently, it's a miracle my luggage(s) didn't get lost heading to and back (and yes, I airtagged it just to be safe, but airtagging turned out to be a waste - shouldve airtagged myself that i didn't get lost in the land of the rising sun instead🤣)... 

 

Pearson is way better on the way back (Eg in August) than heading out (in June).  Still, I am not taking that Pearson flight to the Hunt Club in 2 weeks time, despite the course being so close to Ottawa Airport - would rather drive if need be 🤣

 

Let's see who amongst the ones flying in next week twitter out needing help seeking their lost clubs and what not... Certainly there's been a few of them across the globe lately (eg Vik, Morikawa, Leona,  Yuna Nishimura (for the Open), Shane Bacon(!), etc)🛅🧳

Why so harsh on her now?  She is relatively young and still needs maturing and developing as a person and player.  Try to be patient, she was very solid that first rookie year in 2020.

Not a pro, but Rose Zhang has played abroad more than many a LPGA players.  By the way, I's introduced to collegiate women's golf when Jennifer Kupcho, Lilia Vu and Kristen Gillman won 2018 World Amateur Team Championship in Ireland:

I'm still a little shocked that she skipped the USWA to play in the AIG. She'll have many opportunities to play in the majors, but as a previous champion of the USWA she's running out of time to hoist the trophy for a second time.

My take is the coming year will be her last year as an amateur; she'll take 2023 LPGA Q-School.

Speaking of QSchool... 

 

QSeries/school 2022 stage 1 is this week -- would be keen to see some new names to advance beyond Stage 2 (not a typo - I feel those who play stage 1 should at least aim to get an Epson Tour card, so need to advance to stage 3 to assure themselves of a pro career)... some I know of sadly didn't make it past stage 2 last year... hopefully this year is better for her/ them. 🤞

True but you have to remember everyone was taking it as truth when some were saying she would have 5 majors by now, be ranked # 1 and at least have Player of the Year and/or Rookie of the Year.

Doesn’t everyone who completes the event get Epson Tour status? Not very high priority, but status nevertheless.

 

On a different point, the LPGA should rethink the top 40ish and ties getting “full cards” after q-series. There will be players this year that have “full cards” but their priority only got them into 7-8 events.

I think having a proper caddie will help her. Not sure why she is recycling them, is she hard to work with ? Her on course demeanor seems very gloomy , you'd think some of that A Lim positivity would rub off on her.
