Found some highlights for the Se Ri Pak World Match from 3 days ago.

It featured Sorenstam, Ochoa, Davies, Kerr, Tseng and obviously Pak playing with KLPGA players in a team event over 9 holes.

Ochoa and Min-Ji Park won! 🇲🇽🇰🇷

Did you notice the metallic higher-pitched “ping” when their putts successfully reached the hole ️ 🕳 ?

AFAIK... isn’t audio augmented ie it’s because Koreans / Japanese have grown accustomed to prefer that ASMR-ish metallic sound (so the holes have steel cups instead of plastic)...

My home course tried those metallic cups for awhile, but then reverted to the traditional plastic cups (I’m guessing higher maintenance/ upkeep for the metallic hole cups)

I'm a regular follower of the Japan Tour and that "ping" is synonymous with golf coverage in Japan and Korea.

Maybe there are microphones in the cup to enhance the sound?! I don't mind it.

The metal cups are far more durable.  But I suspect that the metal cups at your course were replaced again because too many of the members/regulars were not fond of the sound and complained.   🙂

And Leona is trooper she's jumping on a plane to SK right after too.  I don't really know the climate or weather in SK but is there a reason the event SK isn't played around the same time as the other Asian swing earlier in the year.  I think they do a disservice to the SK event by having at the end of the season wrapped up the event in Japan but at least there is another event between Japan the tour finale but it's a pretty good one and most will probably skip the Asian swing now to play in it.

Weather in SK/Japan is conducive to golf this time of the year (October).  Not too hot not too cold (at least to me, actually, WARM, relative to hogtown)...

That's partly a reason why so many events go there this time of the year, notably F1 (Singapore, Japan this and next week), Zozo (2 weeks from now), and as you pointed out, SK event etc... too bad they couldn't find 3 events to make this a full asian swing this year and make it worth the trip for some...

Could be worse though - you could be working in Winnipeg!  🤣

I'll make sure that I get expatriated/excommunicated first to Japan, Korea or Singapore before I head over to Winterpeg🤣... Seriously though, too bad Taiwan and China LPGA events are cancelled again this year (eg covid etc) and some Malaysian/Singapore PGA events have gone the way of the dodo for good... (Eg CIMB etc)

When Greg comes a talking, we know who might be walking.

The Commish decided not to take the out the USGA and the R&A gave her and made a decision about 2 inches that had no effect on the women's game but could have severely altered the career of a player, I would say that player no longer owes a thing lol

In a nutshell -- The new LPGA Commissioner, Mollie, had the option of not enacting a rule change on the driver length being reduced from 48" inches to 46" inches.  The USGA and the R&A wrote the rule so that the individual tours could decide whether to implement it or not.

For all intents and purposes, Brooke Henderson was the only one that played with the 48" driver over the past 5 seasons (on the LPGA and possibly the PGA).  When Mollie opted to enact that rule for the LPGA it primarily affected Brooke and no one else.  This is despite Brooke being the player that never really used the full length of the 48" driver, as everyone knows that she grips down on the club by approximately 2" inches.  That meant it rendered her driver to an effective length of 46" where most of the remaining LPGA players grip the club anyways.

It comes across to many as being mean-spirited on Mollie's part in singling out Brooke and only Brooke.  So hence, the comment about why Brooke really may not feel any allegiance to Mollie.

Of course, the Saudi Aramco series raises a whole new set of issues for the LPGA that transcend this particular issue, and it could compromise the entire LPGA and women's professional golf if there is not thoughtful leadership on the matter.

lol, ok, now it makes sense. I should have known coming from @Stooch it was a Brooke based response 😉

But, yeah back to my point, it does seem a lot of big name players have zero issues playing in the Aramco events. Kinda gives ya an uneasy feeling if/when big money comes a knocking. Hopefully, as you mention, a deal can be thoughtfully worked out and the LPGA can remain 100% in tact. Time will tell.

The GC camera shot was from behind the other player, so I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was Gaby Lopez that was consoling Janet right after she finished 18.
