Taylormade 2022 mb/mc replacement?

TM uses hosel weights called bullet weights to change the swingweight.

(these are not tip weights and can be removed with difficulty)

I received my MC’s from the custom shop last week. Ordered on the 1st. Impressed with that turnaround. Irons are fantastic. Easily the best feeling TM irons I have ever hit. I don’t know why they even made a blade with the MC’s being so close. They remind me of MP blades to be honest. The 770 are so much better looking this model too.

Yes that is correct. 

I think a lot of OEM’s are on top of things now. Buy them, love them, sell them. They are fantastic!

I ordered mine on the 7th with a 770 4i. Hoping they come soon. They felt great to me as well and more forgiving than I thought they would be.

did you combo the 770 and MCs? If so, what did you go with?

Got fit for the MC and placed the order on 1/5 and had them in hand on 1/13. TM must be pumping out the custom orders.

Ordered mine the 7th with MCC4 and PX LS standard length, 1 degree up, 4i 770 and 5-PW MC. Hoping they get here soon.

Ordered mine end of December and got them last week but I'm in the SoCal region. MC's feel incredible. Super solid, just enough pop vs. a blade, and still exceptional feel. Not quite Mizuno feel but close.

How do you like the forgiveness compared to some of the other irons you've hit?

Ordered a 4i 770 and 5-PW MC on Jan 7. Just got the text that they were delivered today. Seems TM is on top of their stuff with this release.

Just got an email that they are out for delivery today. This is the first brand new set I’ve bought since the Nike Vapor Pro irons came out. Still no word yet on the driver and woods. Will be interested in the testing difference between the OG Sim and the Stealth 2+ when they arrive.

There is some forgiveness in them. I would say a whole lot though. The t100 are more forgiving and are similar in size. The MC just feel a lot better to me. There’s no comparison to the i230 in terms of forgiveness. The I are just on another level. I59 is better in that dept too. I would probably say that the MC are similar to a JPX tour in terms of forgiveness. Caveat, I have not hit the mc on course yet. So I am excited to try them. Where the woods are underwhelming this year, the irons are fantastic

Went to the local golf shop and saw these in person for the first time. Debating on pulling the trigger on a set. MB 7-PW and MC 4-6. Will be either than or Titleist MB/T100 combo. Just not sure how the titleist will combo as id assume a big ball speed jump between mb and t100

Had my first range session with my set and I felt like they were more forgiving than I thought they might be. I love the feeling and when you button it the ball jumps.

How are you finding the gapping from 4i 770 to 5i MC? Contact is getting me a set so just figuring out how I'm going to split things up. Honestly really silly that OEMs push combo sets yet don't offer anything other than a 7i for fitting generally. If I went off that I'd just buy the blade every time. In the last gen there wasn't a huge difference between MB and MC but looking at pretty much every run of the mill tour players bag on SMS and WRX you see MC all the way through, 770/MC, MC/ MB (usually splitting at 7) and 770/MC/MB. Rarely do you see anyone in MB all the way through which pretty much tells you nobody should be playing them even at scratch. I'm leaning towards 4 and 5 770 and 6-PW in MC.

I'm having pretty good gapping between the two. The 770 has an obvious increase in ball speed, but launches higher for me and that helps keep my gapping manageable. I was lucky enough that my fitter is a Taylormade staffer and he had his own sets of the 770 and 7MC at the shop, so I was able to hit them so we could determine where the natural combo spot would be. I know that they're both forged, but the MC just feel so good, even compared to the 770. If I can handle the 5 iron fine on course this year, I may also order a 4 iron 7MC. I've found them to be pretty forgiving for an MC unless you're way out on the toe.

Unless it’s a funky lie I essentially never hit it out of the toe. My miss is catching it a bit clean. Pretty well decided on 4i 770 and then either 5-6 MC, 7-PW MB or just MC for the rest. Oddly the sole is more narrow on the MC. The lofts are listed as the same now too with 34* 7 irons but in this video the fellow says the MC is actually measuring at 35*… I’ve seen multiple times that they were weakening the MC this year to combo with the MB better. I’ve also seen indications they thinned out the MC this year and reduced offset but all looks the same. Confusing.

That's interesting about the 35 degrees remark. We strengthened the MCs by 1 for me across the board. Here they are next to each other. Definitely thicker sole and topline, but footprint and offset are very close.

These look really good. I picked up a set of MCs 4-P, then decided on a 779 4i for the top end (think I have you to credit for that actually). Although, my MCs are last model but we’re mint and saved some $$$. 4i should be here tomorrow, then can work on some tuning.

I saw the new line today, full sets. The new p7mb I thought looked pretty good, it looked better than the p730 imo and that has been one of their best blades. It looked like the p730 from address but had a slimmer sole which I think is an improvement. I compare blades to the titleist blades and these looked almost the same as the 620 footprint. I think more pros will switch to these out of the 730. 
 

The mc had more of a signature taylormade look from address with how they blend into the hosel.
