Yealimi Noh made her third consecutive cut after missing cuts on four straight non-team events; things clearly are looking better.

 

But, she hasn't been in position to contend for titles; that's still a big hump to overcome!

As a long time Sung Hyun Park fan I'm glad she made the cut yet again and is earning some cash and recognition at last. She's been off the radar too long.

Maria made her 3rd cut in a row, and the 4th in her last five starts. A top 10 this week is almost certainly out of the question, but small steps.

 

Lucy missed her 2nd cut in a row. 'Probably running out of gas.

Bianca Pagdanganan finally made a cut; but surprisingly she withdrew from NW Arkansas next week.

 

It doesn't make sense; she needs every chance to score CME points in order to retain her card.

Carlota Ciganda, Maja Stark, Ayaka Furue and Hanah Green; they're LPGA winners who are within two shots of the lead.  Will any of them takes the bull by the horns and seize the lead on moving day?

I'm not sure if the leaders are lucky or unlucky.  It looks like it will be overcast most of the weekend keeping the course softer.  If it had been sunny all weekend the course would have firmed up and they mentioned they had the stimpmeter at 13 already.   I remember the year Brooke repeated it was the razor's edge with firm and fast sunny condition, it played amazing you could score if you were playing well but if you were off you got murdered.  Soft condition as a leader you can be a little off here still shoot 69 but get run over by a couple 63's or 64's.  I think this is able to be an amazing test if the weather cooperates and allows it to get just a little firmer and faster each day.

For whatever reason this seems to be a good place where good young players can snag a win.  Brooke, Hannah, Marina Alex, Austin Ernest and Georgia Hall all got early victories (maiden victories for some), although now that I think about it Hannah broke through at the KPMG, but still an early victory.

 Didn't play in Canada because she couldn't get a visa in time (processing is slow but the application should have been extra early just in case) and now withdrawing from a tournament when fighting for her card. Hopefully she'll earn enough CME points at the end of the season.

It's definitely been a different season this year. Last year Jin Young and Nelly combined for 9 wins, and 23 total top 10s. Seems like every week they were battling for the win. This season they have 1 win and 11 top 10s. 

 

This season there have been 8 first time winners, and there are still 8 events to play. Last season there were 6. 

 

Obviously Nelly's, Jin Young's, and Danielle's injuries have shaken things up a bit, but I also sense that the larger purses are allowing some of the top players to dial back their schedules.
