Apologies if I missed it but is there any real structural difference between a Hoofer Lite and the Hoofer Lite Tour or is it just a special colorway?

Ping appears to be updating their site re bags.  HL has a new ladies color called blue floral.  Looks pretty cool.  Even cooler though is this bag-  Hoofer St Judes edition.  Artwork done by a 9yr old patient at St Judes.  $300 and it said ALL PROCEEDS go to the hospital.

I couldn't be any happier with the HL tour. It has everything I want and need, nothing I don't. It's been a while since I wanted to carry this often. The push cart is getting a break.

Really like the new design, seems to have fixed most of my problems with the old hoofers. Found a good deal and decided to pick one up.

 

I was going to get a Vessel of Linksmaster this year, but it's probably better for me to go with a bag that I won't be as upset when the bag staff manages to screw it up.

I was pretty close to pulling the trigger to update my old hoofer. New ones look great. However at the store I noticed one of my favorite features is gone…the Velcro patch near the water bottle. I love being able to put my bag on right after a shot and then take my glove off as I’m walking. Minor change, but now I’m debating if I really need a new bag. 
 

anyone else miss the Velcro patch on the side of the bag? The one below the handle just isn’t the same.

This is a wonderful feature and I was sad to see it go

Love to have my glove right there when carrying my bag

I see no reason why to get rid of it

I may buy some velcro and stick on my new bag I liked it so much

I think I mentioned this earlier but a couple of extra velcro patches would be a great addition as well as some sort of reinforced area where ALL of the Ping bags rub on a golf cart.

 

Everyone I've ever owned wore a hole through the bag where it rubs on the cart.

Velcro patch is still there, just in a different spot. It's right under the handle.

Is the consensus that the new bottom on these hoofers/hoofer lites resolved any club tangle issues? I just sold my hoofer lite because I didn't want to deal with the club tangle anymore. I know some people have said it's blown  out of proportion, but I've tried a lot of things (picking up the bag before putting clubs in, holding it straight before putting clubs in, etc etc) and none of them worked.

 

I've seen a few reviews on this thread saying no tangle was experienced on rounds, but wanted to see if anyone else had experience with this with the 2023 hoofers?

I wouldn't say it solves the club tangle issue, but it does reduce it. Yesterday I struggled a couple of times to get clubs in and out with the bag in the upright position. Still not as bas as my old Hoofer.

Trying to shoehorn 14 clubs into 4 or 5 slots that are barely large enough for standard grips is going to create "club tangle", no matter the brand.

I love the duck camo colorway.  Any thoughts on what headcovers to pair for this?  I currently have a white/black camo Nike bag, with black star headcovers from Rose and Fire.  Was thinking about the Seamus headcovers, but I don't see any colorways to go well with this bag.

Tested the new Hoofer at the PGA store today putting a full set of 14 clubs into the bag to see if the new bottom addresses club tangle at all. Sad to say, I experienced tangle off the rip. Did the following tests:

• Layout as follows (all with standard sized grips):
  • Driver, 3W in the top left slot by the handle.
  • Two Hybrids in the top right slot.
  • 5, 6, 7 middle left slot.
  • 8, 9, P middle right slot.
  • 52, 56, 60, putter in bottom slot.

1. Getting clubs in and out without the stand deployed: This seemed to be more less fine when I put clubs in initially.
2. Deployed the stand and retrieved clubs: Slight jamming and tangling (not a good sign)
3. Brought bag upright and retrieved clubs: Jamming and tangling again
4. Deployed stand and retrieved clubs: Worse than when I tried it earlier.

Went over and ran the same test on the 2024 Sun Mountain 3.5 LS, and had almost no tangling. Bought it immediately and will post a review later today after a range session. These results were disappointing for me as I prefer everything about the Hoofer (design, features, pockets, materials) over the SM 3.5 LS. This was just my testing and experience. Other's have posted reviews in this thread and online about not experiencing tangle with the new hoofer, so its clear that your mileage may vary. For me, the club tangle was about equivalent with the 2022 Hoofer Lite that I just recently parted ways with.

What’s the general consensus on the dlx vs the monsoon for carts? Read some reviews on bag sellers saying the monsoon isn’t great.

Any chance you'd be able to post a photo of the carry side of your bag? All of the photos online only show the side of the bag that faces out while it's being carried, and the view of the ball pocket / back of the bag while it's standing up. I'm curious what the back cushion looks like and what the coloring looks like on the other side.

So after a couple of other ping bags (Hoofer Lite and Moonlight Mr Ping editions) i decided i wanted something a little more trolly friendly and opted to give the Ping Hoofer 14 a go.... and am definitely 100% happy with my purchase! The only thing thats the down side is that we didnt have much choice of colours in the UK so i opted for the black/white and then too jazz it up with headcover choices!

 

First the material is great, a little thicker than the hoofer light, but that would seem to suggest longer lasting and more weather resistant.

 

No issues with clubs snaring and i use midsize and arccos sensors...

 

Handles are perfect for getting the bag out of my boot easily.

 

It still has the funky thing where you need to take the legs off, stow them in the back pocket and then reattach, but as its normally used on a trolly, its no biggy! That and the cart strap sleeves make it a dream for on a push / electric trolly. A little bag role but that was soon fixed with a clicgear cosy on the trolly! Flat base also means that it works well on the trolly foot plate and stays where you put it!

 

Umbrella sleeve that keeps the brolly tight and not flopping around, and pings genius rain cover pocket!

 

But the big winner is the organisation, its got a pocket / sleeve / Inner pocket for EVERYTHING!! Range Finder at the top, easy to grab and stow. Phone pocket (that protects your phone), easy access top pocket with a separator for tees / ball or valuables, outer pocket for gloves that separates the old ones form the new,  larger side pocket for waterproofs that has a key leash and then a sleeve for your wallet. Magnetic tee pocket, side pocket that separates pitch repairers from ball markers from other golfing tackle!.... the list goes on, everything now easy to access and then put back so you're ready to go again!! 

 

Have carried it a few times and it really feels no different to the hoofer lite when it has the standard 14 clubs, 8 balls and other golf stuffs in it!

 

If youre in the market for a new bag, deffo check it out as it has to be one of the best "Hybrid Bags" out in the market at a great price. (Would be great to see a monsoon version and maybe some more colour options in the UK!)

Hoping it has some cool improvements!  I think the Moonlite needs to find its niche again as a true Sunday bag.  In my opinion, this version was too bulky to be a true Sunday bag and was kind of a worse, legless hoofer lite.  It either needs a few more features if it's going to be a bag for a full set or change its intention to be for 7-10 clubs. 

 

Regardless, I hope the new version has a some sort of mechanism that keeps the lip of it off the ground on dewy mornings full of grass clippings.  And that the vertical strap stays up better.
