Hi K @airawan Thanks for the reply. Happy for Galitsky & hope she continues to make progress with her golf career.

 

FYI re that "375 yard drive(!!)" on the 18th hole ... it's factually true while misleading at the same time.

 

I am familiar with this week's Asia-Pac WAAP course layout at the Singapore club.  Refer photo of the 18th hole layout.

 

With a good tee shot of say 230+ metres (they were playing from the members' white tees) & some luck ...

If she is able to catch the downhill 'speed slot' with her tee shot (it's an extreme downhill slope, from 250m out, to 125m) ... you get a 'bonus' rollout of up to 100+ metres (leaving her with potentially 110-120 metres to the pin, for her 2nd shot).

 

Refer 2nd screenshot (2nd round; timestamp ~5m3s) for illustration of the above. 

 

While i don't have the 'chops' for that ~230+ metre tee shot, to replicate what Galitsky did ... my guess is that others familiar with the course could! (Example: refer this "Daren Lim Golf" course vlog ... timestamp ~15m7s ... "Timothy Low' = the on-course commentator for KLPGA(dream job!)/ Asian Tour, and the LPGA "Asian Swing" for Honda LPGA Thailand/Singapore HSBC WWC ... a.k.a. Timothy Low 'The Blonde Dragon" his twitter handle!)

 

Notwithstanding the above ... we're still at the same conclusion i.e. "These girls are GOOD". 🙂 

 

..p/s: If anyone knows if there's a website for online catchup for this week's Asia-Pac WAAP broadcast (for the full daily ~4hour show ... not just the Youtube highlights)... For those interested in what a “Korea 2” hypothetical team would look like/rank in these standings

 

... ”Korea2” team would have an aggregate ranking of “128” ie just behind Sweden (109) & better than England (181)

 

... and a “Korea3” team =aggregate of “182”(?)

 

 

... “USA 2” = aggregate ranking of “174”(?)

Thanks @Seamus_McDuff for the correction ... I noted the same for Korea1 wrt the Ranking List sorted by country originally showed InGee as Korea’s Top-ranked player (omitting JYK?)... but didn’t double-check USA2.

e.g. is she starting her season at Drive On (March 23-26)? Or DIO Implants (March 30)? https://www.lpga.com/tournaments 

 

IIRC ... she finished #86 in the 2022 season standings (i.e. Not Top80) ... Does that have an impact on her priority-rank into 2023 tournaments... or does her "Major Winner" status provide some protection & bump SYR up the Priority List?  https://www.lpga.com/-/media/files/priority-list/2023/2023-lpgastart-of-seasonfinal011723.pdf

I's intrigued by Jillian Hollis' 2021 LPGA season when she finished almost DFL on every tournament; it's nice to read from her own perspective.  She started 2023 season with a bang, she should've won Epson Tour's opening event two weeks ago:

I fully expect someone on here will tell us that the actual yardage for this tournament will be just under 6000 yards and that the longest club any of the players hit for their second into a par 5 will be a 5 iron with some hitting 9 irons and wedges.
