Thanks for the video; I saw more Yealimi than her last two years combined!

I bumped into this video before but didn't watch it.  Today I watched the whole episode, I need to know how much Yealimi needs to do to catch either Lydia or Nelly!

Watching now, Aimee already 1 up after the first hole 😂 @18majors 2 important things - she is using claw grip style of putting, looks more confident on the greens vs looking at the hole while putting like at the US Open  + switching from Callaway to titlest

Was anyone else worried, when seeing JYK doing that rope work? (timestamp ~2m08s), i.e. given JYK's wrist injury?

JYK seemed indignant that her drives during the practice round = shorter than her manager's drives

(Does anyone know her? Timestamp ~7m50s shows her name as "김태린" (Kim Tae-Rin?) .
So possibly she's either
(A) https://klpga.co.kr/web/player/moverDetail.do?pr01=9229 ("김태린A")

...or
(B) https://klpga.co.kr/web/player/moverDetail.do?pr01=8307 ("김태린B ")

My guess = (B)... as JYK mentioned they were both the same age (18) when they went on a golf Training Camp together in Thailand. (timestamp ~8m10s).

..Details found via a google-search for ""김태린" "고진영". (https://bit.ly/3y5fMjF)

Congratulations to Nelly Korda:

Nelly Korda partners with Goldman Sachs

"Goldman Sachs has partnered with golfer Nelly Korda as a brand ambassador. Korda, the current No. 2 in the Women's World Golf Rankings, will wear a Goldman Sachs-branded visor beginning at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Gold Canyon, Ariz., from March 23-26."

It seems like her manager for the week in that video was a former professional golfer.

I did enjoy J. Ko being petty about the driving distance 😅

I wonder if there's anything going on between Leona and Vic Hovland?

She's liked a few PGAT Twitter posts featuring him in the last 12 months.

She doesn't like tweets featuring others except the top Irish golfers.

Maybe she just simply likes his golf?

Leona is pretty serious and Viktor is goofy; besides, Leona is 28 and Viktor 25!

Yep, get the age difference (but really, its not much) but Leona isn't so serious off the course, really wicked sense of humour, she's Irish, remember the craic.

Maybe it's just that she likes him?

If so, good luck to them.

I trust your judgement on Leona; and my own judgement on Yealimi Noh!

I think we understand each other well on those two🙂

It maybe one of those comments that has relevance in a few year's time when their personal lives play out in public.

I'll say this at this stage though: I have great respect for Leona's character (she does much for charity et al in Ireland) and you see her fighting spirit when she is in event contention, likewise Vic is a gem.

Anyway, time will tell, I may be miles off.

Is it bad to think either Lyd's, DK, or Linn are gonna win this? Sure would like to see some LET members step it up a notch and challenge a bit. Hopefuls are Pia, Chiara, Klara.

Beth Ann Nichols disappeared for a while, but she's back:

How will Dinah Shore's legacy continue in Texas at the Chevron Championship and will the winner jump? Here's what's planned

"Tournament organizers told Golfweek there’s no expectation that a player will jump into the lake on the 18th next month at the Nicklaus Course at The Club at Carlton Woods, but should the mood strike, the championship team is making sure it will be safe.

Canadians love their golf:

A Stream of Consciousness On The LPGA’s Return to Calgary in 2024

"On the final day of February 2023, Golf Canada announced a return to Calgary for our nation’s premiere woman’s event, the first time following 2016’s playing at Priddis Greens notable Hawk course. Priddis Greens is a strong venue (currently ranked inside Canada’s Top 100 according to Beyond The Contour), but it is a bit of a hike from city-centre. When the CP Women’s Open returns to Cowtown in 2024, it’ll be at Earl Grey, about 10 kilometres from downtown."

Whether it's the intention, the CME Ranking system is clearly designed to make life easy for elite players.  Even though vast majority of players have no opportunities to enter any events; both Jin Young Ko and Nelly Korda have earned enough points to qualify for 2023 CME Tour Championship which is reserved for Top-60 tour players.

Because of the schedule, the Drive On Championship has become such a hot ticket that, at this moment, only 26 of the 47 2022 Q-Series qualifiers are eligible to play.  Players such as Su Oh, Lindy Duncan and etc. are on the outside looking in.

The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, things don't change much year after year!

The early season limited Asian fields are meant to reward/boost those who finished well the season prior i.e free points + no cut. Yealimi was certainly buyoed by this last season (78) if she does not improve, she is heading to KLPGA over Epson I'd assume, but let's not put that thought into the universe!

Did you watch the entire Aimee Cho video?  That video was filmed within the last one or two weeks; the culmination of a busy off-season.  She's been training hard in California with Swing Coach James Oh and fitness with Dr. Andrew Goldstein of Train-X.

She'll enter 2023 season with the best preparation in her career, both golf wise and mentally.  The big question, as always, is whether her effort converts into results!

It's less than 3 weeks until Arizona; I'll breathe with a sigh of relief if she opens with an under-par round.

she looks more comfortable on the greens switching to claw grip + switching from Callaway to Titleist - altho I'm sure Yealimi can bomb it 270 with the Paradym!

I am currently attending a conference. Sportswriter Christine Brennan was the morning keynote speaker. Inevitable she was asked about her column regarding Tiger Woods and the Tampon incident.

To summarize, she said some of the reaction to her column proved that golf continued to be an unwelcoming space for women. She said Fred Ridley and the USGA were probably banging themselves on the head because it countered their efforts to bring more women to the game.

If golf wants to be thrive, it needs to attract more women and Tiger’s do not help when there are dozens of sports women can choose from. Women will continue to grow their influence in all aspects of society as a result of Title IX. Bringing women to golf should be a given but not when incidents like this happen.

She said Tiger has been a failure as far as bringing black men to the game and standing up for civil rights. Tiger has been coddled by the media too much and especially some golf writers. She cited

she said tiger is stuck in a 7th grade mentality and is a 47 year old with the body of an 80 year old.

When asked about LIV golf and the potential of a female league. She praised Rory Mcilroy and Jon Rahm. Said that golf on LIV is laughable because they play music and wear shorts. She said players are essentially reading scripts on behalf of Mohammed Bin Salman. Questioned how players know nothing about women and LGBT rights when they travel the globe. Apparently Paul Casey said something to that effect to her?? Also about playing with a teenage girl during a pro-am who said things were getting better. She said this is Sports washing.

She wishes the majors had banned LIV players and thinks the past champions dinner at Augusta will be a doozie.

She said shame on the women who were to join LIV if that were to happen. Her money is on the LPGA, she hopes people will support the LPGA because it’s a money game and corporations need to do more.

Most of the participants were not golf fans but she did do a good job of explaining what LIV was and what the controversy was.

Her speech on Title IX was interesting especially when relating the fact that most current female leaders played sports at some point. Not sure if this is accurate? She also believes women will eventually make up half the senate and women will run against each other for president pretty regularly.

Way better system that order of merit. especially with really top heavy purses now. system was changed to points based so one player couldn't just top ten at the us open and keep a card vs playing well enough all season to earn enough points. The q series players will get plenty of playing opportunities throughout the season.
