At least throw in a dozen of the balls with the subscription.

I understand locking courses out with the subscription model but I really don’t like that actual hardware is useless without the premium subscription

Well, I pre-ordered one when it first dropped. Here's to hoping it'll be better than the R10.

I had one prior and used it exclusively on the range, but ended up returning it due to it not picking up shots frequently after their latest update at the time.

This having a hybrid camera + radar techs seems very promising for the price point.

I had both the original MLM and the R10 upon it's release.  I sold the MLM for some of the same reasons you did, plus I was using it 100% outside and it would overheat in like 30 minutes and killed my phone battery...I had an older 7+ phone then.

I sold the R10 after about a month, I just wasn't using it enough and there was still a hot demand for it, so I was able to recoup almost the entire price to deliver it immediatly to someone.

I have an R10 on order again....ha  as I now hae a semi indoor setting to use and want to add the simulation that I didn't care about before.   I am consideiring ordering the MLM 2 and just try them both and then just keep 1.

I pre-ordered this, but have reservations. I want to see a good, thorough side-by-side comparison with a high-end LM before I decide whether to go through with the purchase (I've seen the Golficity mini review). The $200 subscription rankles me a bit--I'd prolly pay another $500 or so due to that before I more on. Rapsodo doesn't strike me as particularly customer oriented either.

I also have a Mevo+/PP on order too. We'll see if that can live up to the type, too.

I was about to order the Mevo+ with the PP then I saw the 2023 and was set on that.    But considering the cost differnces, I might just end up with either the MLM 2 or R10, they will probably suit my needs enogh.    But I did like a lot of what I saw in the 2023 Mevo

Can this be used without a ball for swing speeds, such as stack system?

This is my main question as well.  Having that feature would keep me from having to purchase a 2nd device at $200, making this an amazing value.

Ordered one about 10 minutes after launch. Tried the codes .Nothing worked. Hoping the graphics on the sim won't be so cartoonish   like on Garmin R10 Home Tee Hero but at this price point all good.

BMW locks out heated seats if you don’t have a subscription.

Like it or not, software enabled hardware is a thing.

The comparison I want to see is the MLM2PRO hardware locked VS the R-10 on range. Also indoors with R-10 using RCT balls. Closer in price to each other that way & with really what you get(without subscriptions).

The Rapsodo would likely take the R10's lunch money indoors, even without the sub. Usually the things hidden behind paywalls are still measured but just not exported for display, so spin axis will probably be more consistent with what Quad would see, relatively speaking.

Without the sub the MLM2 would not give any spin #'s.

Continuing to support the companies that do this doesn't help.

Yet people still do.

Other monitors like the BLP and Mevo+ still measure everything for determining ball flight and locked parameters are just a matter of display.

Not saying this device works in this manner, though it seems likely.

It was confirmed by rapsodo that it will not give the spin or spin axis without the subscription and special Callaway balls. I haven't read anything about whether it will still measure it and use it for its other calculations.

I thought the R10 lacks It’s ability to measure shot snap accurately.

it can’t do spin axis or side spin….something like that.

anyone have experience with this.

Radar can't measure spin axis and has to do calculations based on ball flight and launch/club metrics. Mevo+ (with upgrades), X3 and Trackman go a bit further and also use the onboard camera to determine impact location, which helps (allegedly) with gear effect.

Question for those with simulator experience...

Looking for a sub $1000 monitor for use for a virtual range and golf simulator in my backyard. Very simple set up with a net and iPad. Don't mind paying the subscription... if this thing ends up working as they say with the special Callaway Balls...seems like a no brainer that this is the one to get? Nothing else in that price range is comparable at the moment it seems?

How does putting work on these when playing a virtual course?

TM SIM Ti 15 - LA Golf A Series 70

Cally OG Apex UW 19 - Smoke Black 80

Cobra One 4 Utility + Forged 6-GW - TT 120 S400

Edison 52, 56 & 60 - TT 120 X100

What is the real competitor this is going against? Apparently after a few years you’re going to be over $1000 with subscription so it can’t be R-10.

I would guess it's the Mevo+/skytrak etc. If the spin numbers and spin axis are as accurate as claimed this is leagues above the R10 and probably more accurate than both the Skytrak & Mevo+.

I owned a Mevo+ for about the 1st year of it's life and it was incredibly disappointing. I appreciate they've since introduced fusion tracking which may help but some of the issues I reported to support and spent months waiting for a fix for still appear to be a problem. There are also certain problems that are just a limitation of a radar with limited ball flight that this seems to address with the marked balls.

Whilst I'm not a huge fan of it I can tolerate the $199 (£169?) subscription given the cost of range balls here in the UK. I would probably hit enough to cover the cost in the first month.
