Mizuno Pro 223 are my favorite. Really enjoyed the i59 and ZX7 as well. I wasn’t even planning on buying Mizunos but after I hit them, the feel was amazing.

Would u say 223 and zx7 felt similar or not? If i had to choose any set of irons right now its tough... but i think the mizuno 223 have the full package. They are like smaller i230 imo but feel equal or better . Forgivness amazing feeling very balanced feel. Not a huge fan of the backside look but not bad. Callaway x forged cb are fantastic also. I play the 2018 version and they are phenomenal. Also... even if you find a set of ten year old amazing irons... they still play amazing. Not that much changed.

Wilson staff CB is seriously underrated. Just ordered myself a set and can't wait. Comparatively cheap as well

I agree on the Wilson Staff CB. Amazing soft feel and also super forgiving.

I play the ZX5 Srixon. Played Bridgestone a long time. However, the ZX5 are the best option currently IMO.

I just bought a set of ZX5 (previous model not MK II) and after the first range session today I’m glad I did.

Nice crisp feel and the Modus 105R shafts are a perfect match for me.

l have some Recoil 95 that I may install in the future.

I should've waited and got the Callaway TCBs they are simply amazing, I play the Apex Pro 21, not as soft but very forgiving, truly love them, but if I had the choice I would get the TCBs for sure...

They are some of the best Calloway has ever made. They gave the feel that all the others in the apex line lack.

I gamed the 223 last year and the ZX7.  Zx7 got sold after 9 holes. Too thin to win. I wanted to love the 223 but they became too inconsistent between king a short irons. The short irons were spinning too much in me and causing distance issues. The 7-4I were awesome, just workhorses. I fade the modus 115 in the set…. But almost needed x100 or modus 125 shafts in the short to bring the flight and spin down…

currently have the i230….. realistically  they are 1 of like 15 sets….but these are what I have been searching for.

I keep saying the i230 are what the 223 wanted to be. But they are so consistent across the set. There is tech in these irons…. Which you don’t really see in this category….

inwill echo what the rest of WRX has been saying the i230 …. Some really consistent irons. The i59 are also worth a look. I have them too. Very strong irons and loaded with consistency for the category of iron that they are.

…. but I need to stop showing the i230 so much love…. Can’t jinx myself..

I wish the 620 weren’t 4 years old, very tempted to buy them.

Would be great to know if there will be an update to th 620cb this year, if so I will wait!  Hopefully they add the tungsten back to the mid irons as well like the 718 series.

What exactly did you not like about the ZX7 to sell after 9 holes. Sorry couldn’t understand your post

I am too shallow for the sole to work. My AoA is about -1*….. you really need to be steeper for these to work in my opinion. Ian from TXG suggested -4* or more.

there are other people on here that have had them work just fine with a shallow attack as well….

YMMV.

Thanks. I have a set and really like them but had a need to try the i230. Have only hit them into my net off a mat. They feel good but I’m not striking them as cleanly as I’d like in the 5 and 6 irons. Guess we’ll see.

I wouldn’t say they were similar. The srixons felt heavier at impact. The mizuno 223 felt quicker but also softer. I actually think the ping i59 felt closer to the mizuno 223 when well struck. I think it comes down to personal preference and swing. If I didn’t go with the 223s I would have bought the Pings.

I just hit the new ZX7 vs i230 vs 223's compared to my T100's. Ask me whatever you want about it.

Summary... i230 blew me away. I am NOT a Ping lover at all, I honestly never loved any Ping club for one reason or another but these are seriously good. I was getting 3-4mph more ball speed than T100 and hits that felt a little bottomed lost quite literally no distance. ZX7 gave me the highest ballspeed... 130 ball with a 7i is my all time record and that's what I was reaching today. Felt awesome but bottomy hits dropped off a lot on feel compared to both Ping and T100. These had the thickest top like too but overall a very pleasing package. 223's did everything well, the most balanced overall. Didn't stand out in any one area, but also didn't lack in anything. Reminded me the most of T100.

Where T100 shines is the looks. Super thin top line, incredible bag appeal, great feel when you compress it nicely. The design between i230 and these couldn't be more different though. Satin vs chrome... thin sole vs slightly thicker... forged vs non-forged. My final verdict would need to come from the course, but my tried and true T100's could potentially be dethroned. I think it will come down to a 3 way contest between my existing irons against 223 and i230. Sadly, I would suspect they will all be similar across my best shots indoors, so my sick twisted self will buy both sets and play them each for several rounds to determine the 2023 bag. Please don't tell my wife.

OP here, after multiple range sessions I’m going to stick with my MP20MB irons this year. I’m hoping for an updated titleist 620cb this fall.

I did pick up a 223 4 iron I'm putting a DG TI S400 shaft it for those windy days when the 4 hybrid is useless.

Honestly, it’s pretty hard to beat those. Unless there is a serious issue with them, you’re splitting hairs between most anything in the blade or muscle cavity families. Adding the 223 is a good move to help with the top of the bag. Have a great year with them and kudos to you for sticking with a set rather than doing what we all do and changing for no reason! 😁

When you figure it out let me know. You really need to take a lot of post on here with a grain of salt.

Please report back if you actually go this route.  The i230 have my attention big time.  When demo’d ( not a fitting), they were incredibly consistent.

Ironically, I have no idea what you said either!

that a lot of post on here need to be taken with a grain of salt...he sold a set of irons after playing 9 holes.  How many iron shots do you typically hit on 9 holes? 10-15 max?

I've been professionally fitted for irons that took me many rounds to really get comfortable with and dialed in.

The new P7MB seem to be just as good as the previous version.  I do like how they switched it to more of a matte finish versus the shiny chrome from the OG.  A lot less glare at address which is awesome here in sunny FL.
