So I played with my T100/T150 set. The T100 did not feel clicky at all to me. The T150 on the other hand....You can hear and feel a click on center strikes. Ended up hitting my 6 iron T150 consistently at 190 yards dead straight. They have some pop coming off the face. My fitter made the T150 1 degree weak, I am coming off of Srixon ZX5 mk1 which have some strong lofts and the ZX5 6 iron is my 180yd club. The T150 is plenty forgiving and has a ton of distance. They look great at address but if you hate clickyness, they might not be for you.

Same shaft and loft as your ZX5? So how much forgiveness are you giving up compared to the ZX5?

 Do you think the 150 would target the zx7 and p770 market with just a little slimmer sizing ?

TXG video up.

Huge praise for the T200.

Ian suggesting he'll play T200's in the 4 and 5 iron.. T150 6 iron on..

If someone at his level is playing T200 5 iron I have no right to think I should game the T150 in that spot.

Might need to re-think where I split my combo..

To be honest though, you’ve got to take Ian’s perspective for his OWN clubs with a huge grain of salt.  He looks at so many things over the year, very little is truly safe other than a TM driver/fairway and his putter.

His commentary on the clubs is second to none, but when applied to his own bag - uhm, I’d be a bit wary.

I got fit last week. I wanted to try them vs my ZX MkII. I wanted to try shafts other than Modus, but the fitter eventually ended up with T100 5-P, T150 6, and T200 4. The fitter was obsessed with getting 5 MPH ball speed difference between my irons. It was interesting.

Every strike from flushed to mishits were softer in my ZXs. I really wanted a reason to buy new clubs, but I ended up staying with current irons and ordering a ZX4 4-iron and an electric cart instead.

He seems to fit himself into clubs and then ditches them after 2-3 rounds, e.g. Ping i230. It just shows that numbers in "the bay" don't always translate onto the course and actual scoring/comfort. If Ian struggles to find clubs he likes, how are we!

I hit all of them yesterday as my shop got them in.  The only one that seriously impressed me was the T350.  It felt the best of the bunch to me (springy and fast) and was stupid forgiving.  Every shot I hit with the 6i launched high and landed soft at the 170 mark.  T100, T150 and T200 just felt really heavy to me.  Sound was much improved on T200 over last year but it didn't have the same pop, IMO.

What shaft did you hit in the T350

I agree with you in it being the biggest change.  I also agree on tbe T200 sound being so much better.  I think distance for me was similar to the 2021

Ok I’m really struggling with this. Maybe it’s hard because I haven’t had the Titleist in hand  yet. How do these models correlate to the Taylormade’s?

T100=P7MC

T150=P770, or is it closer to the P790?
T200=P790, or is the T200 smaller than the P790?

Im playing the ‘21 P790s, way too long and eh feel. I played the prior P770s and kinda regret getting rid of them.  I really want to get back into a smaller profile without sacrificing too much forgiveness. Probably can’t handle the T100, but can’t for the life of me figure out the T150 in profile or performance

I hit the T100, T150 and T200 7 iron a few days ago. I didnt hear/feel the click in the 150 as noted above. But definitely different sound/feel vs 100. 100 were very solid and Looked a little more compact than my current T100s. The 200 looked more compact than previous model. The tech rep said it’s a bit of optics with the finish that adds that appearance of being more compact. All of them felt great. No monitor data, just hitting balls off a mat. Leaning towards the 150.

Hit hem today, currently have T100S 21 (the strong lofted T100).  Current setup T100S PXLZ 6.0 soft stepped, 7i carry 168 (stock swing). Fitter kept pushing 150 up my throat for some reason when i clearly said i do not mind losing a few yards if for some better gapping.  I hit T100 7I 165 carry 8 times out of 10 and the fitter said its not good enough, lets try 150, i nearly snapped.  150 sole was a bit too big for where I play, i play on hard pan and love the thinnest possible sole with the most possible forgiveness.  If you love tour T100(s) and happy with your gapping then I think you’d be out of your mind to switch.  For me, T150 is out of the equation for anything shorter than a 7 or a 6.  I want more spin and thinner soles in the shorter clubs and 150 is not it, but it is a perfect bridge club between T100 and T200.  In my opinion current T100(s) values just gone up.  I did not feel any better “turf interaction”, in fact 150 was worse than priory T100(S).

For me, however, someone looking for more spin, and actually having less distance in my scoring clubs T100 might a good choice.

I would say your last comment is more for you personally and not necessarily a general truth. My 620 CB was in the same yardage range as the 150 but I actually picked up about 800 RPM in spin with the 150. From personal experience I saw the 150 as an improvement over the T100s.

Sorry, should be AM(2), which is a Mitsubishi Rayon Tensei AV graphite iron shaft.  They are an ascending mass shaft that gets heavier throughout the set.  https://www.mca-golf.com/products/av-white-am2-irons

As a previous T100S player, was the difference in size and distance between the T100S and T150 ?

Pretty much the same, but the T150 is slightly thicker, hence the more forgiveness.

Anyone considering the T150s and having the lofts weakened?

I want the little bit of forgiveness that the T150 seem to offer over the T100, but don't want to play a PW at 44. And i don't want the mixed set.

You have to ignore the loft and focus on distance/height and whether it works for you. The T150's launch higher than the 100's. The extra distance isn't about the loft. The early clubs were loft jacked, but the newer ones are designed to launch higher with a much lower loft.

Same. I'm not sure I'd want anymore spin than the T150 offers. I can bring back a 6 iron with my T100S and the T150 hits higher.

‘Kid in a sweet shop’ syndrome.

Used to have it myself when I worked in a golf shop. Wasted several seasons faffing about with clubs and shafts, then left the golf trade and had the most consistent ball-striking season I’ve ever had.

Learned a lot about clubs, particularly that they have no mystical properties - or if they do they wear off after about 4 rounds! - so I’m a bit more sensible these days.

Still enjoy tinkering, but it can be so destructive to your game if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Not sure I fully agree here.

T100 = there is no ideal comparison. P7MC are less forgiving than T100 for sure. I find them closer to the 620CB.

T150=P770

T200=P790

T300=Stealth?
