Yeah, take his suggestion and play at 7800 yards to “give the bomber a chance” lol….from that distance the course would likely have a rating of at least 75.0…so even with an easy sloped course that course handicap 4 would average about 82-3 strokes over handicap.  If he’s a 4.0 index he’d average even higher.

In the fall in a tourney at Pebble she put up 7 birdies, one eagle, no bogeys = 63 (women's competitive course record - albeit not many women's comps there).

About 10 years ago Moriya Jutanugarn was my partner in a pro-am.   It was her rookie year and she went on that season to be the LPGA Rookie Of The Year.  Pretty sure around then my index was somewhere around 4.3 to 4.7   We played the back tees on a course used every year for an LPGA event.  I can assure you that there was no way I could have beat her unless the stars aligned precisely so my 1 out of 20 best round magically aligned with her 1 out of 20 worst round.  Could she have shot a 75 on a day I shot a 74.  Its possible.  Its also possible she could shoot 65 to my 82 which would be pretty embarrassing.  I had a huge distance advantage over her and played very well playing along side her that day in a scramble format.  I'd be hitting a 7-iron and she'd be hitting a fairway wood but she'd get it inside me.  The wedge game, short game and putting are the real difference though.  Just deadly from 120 yards and in.

What an idiotic question.  What's her handicap? +5, +6?  How often does someone lose to a person whose handicap is 9 shots higher than theirs?  Whatever that percentage is would be the same likelihood that RZ would lose to a 4 capper.

Not quite an accurate comparison. Block is a PRO, a long time, well known top ranked area pro who has competed regularly vs. PGA touring pros.

 

Block scoring only works in majors where par is a good score like us open and pga. Anyother tournament and Block misses the cut which he has done repeatedly. It is also why he isn't on tour.

Again goes to how block plays the game. He is mostly making pars not birdies.

Most touring pros are trying to get birdies or more. The margin of error is finer and easier to find trouble when not perfect.

Average 5 cap stats compared to Rosie's stats from this season (not exact comparison, but you get the picture).  Pay close attention to the parts of her stats that I highlighted, particularly 24 out of 27 rounds at par or better.  A 5 cap shoots even par once every 3 years.  

 

 

 

Notice driving distance of 247yds.

Rose even hits by them further by 20+yds. 

 

I know have in person watched her hit it that far and gotten multiple driving hole measurements. Her long this week was a shade under 280yds and short drives into the wind were still longer than 4hcp at 258yds.

Plenty of high ranked amateur college players struggle(d) on tour. There's a reason the top amateurs skip college and head directly into the college ranks.

She has no status on the LPGA, so after playing a few events on exemptions, she'll have to head to Q Series in the fall. If she gets her card, she'll still be low on the priority list and have limited opportunities.

After winning mizuho, at start of lpga interview, rose said she has decided to join the LPGA.
