I tested the VF 6X today. Next to Ventus TR blue, VF felt more 1 piece, but still smooth. I’ve played nearly every Whiteboard iteration that has came out and VF feels very similar. Kai’li white is also a good comparison in feel.

It’s compareable. I tested it against my Kai’li white and the white felt more one piece to me but that isn’t a knock on the VF. VF feel is hard to beat.

What flex do you play in the Kai’li? I didn’t hit it in driver but I hit the 70X in a G430 fairway yesterday so I guess it wasn’t apples to apples. 70X Kai’li in the fairway actually felt more lively than the AD VF 6X in driver. But I don’t believe Ping tips their fairway shafts, so that could be why it felt a little looser. I haven’t hit the TX in Kai’li.

Is VF closer to Ventus Black/Ventus TR Blue or closer to Tour AD XC? 

To me VF feels more like Ventus Black than TR Blue. But it is a touch smoother than Ventus Black. With TR blue it felt like the handle section was stiffer relative to the mid. AD VF felt more one piece with maybe a subtle bend up by the hands.

60tx and I tested the VF6TX so I kept it comparable. VF is so so good but it came down to comfort with the Kai’li. I’m sure GD will sell a ton of these.

Yeah I hear you! I’ve played mitsubishi white shafts forever, OG 63X, D+ 62X, Tensei Pro 60TX, and currently D+ limited 60TX, so it’s hard to switch when you’re so used to something. I need to hit the new Diamana WB before I can pull the trigger on a VF.

I’ve played all those besides the pro white. The WB is one shaft I would like to check out when it’s available

Put the VF back in the bag today, lol.  I realized that my drives are in a better launch window which nets me more carry with slightly higher ball speeds compared to the TR Black.

I bought another one and sold it after another sim session……but after a session fixing a path issue I developed the prior time it wasn’t a shaft issue 😳🙄. VF is really good and wish I wouldn’t have let it go now. Wrx at its finest here

Cobra LTDx LS 9° BGT Brava X 45.5”
TaylorMade Steath 2+ 9° Kalil Red 6S 45.75”
TaylorMade BRNR 11.5° Ventus TR Blue 6S 44”

 

I’m a lefty. They all have been great for me. No real complaints other than my typical miss has been a push far left occasionally with them all.

 

I recently was fitted for the PXG Black Ops and saw a major jump in ball speed with a GD TP 6X, but launch (15-16°) and height is a bit high (140 ft). I like the feel of the shaft and I did order a TP shaft, but also looking to get this lower. I was looking at trying out the VF, but don’t know which flex or weight to get. I was leaning towards 6X, but saw Ian video and it swayed me a bit

 

Any recommendations on what I should go with? Going to put an All-Fit tip on it. No place near by to try them out.

I've done the same thing with Tensei 1K White.  Sometimes it's easy to put blame on a shaft when the swing is getting off.  😏

Well the shaft was just a tryout against my gamer. First time around it performed great but slightly less than the gamer but figured I’d give it another go. Second time swing was a touch off and didn’t think about it until the other day. Oh well, it is what it is.

Curious, is the VF tipped an inch also? I'm trying to decide if I want to tip mine the inch I currently have my UB at since the VF is more whiteboard than blueboard

Phizzy did his 1/2 but I had my 6tx tipped 1 inch

Can you feel a noticable difference between X and TX in the GD lineup? Have played TX in other brands but my UB 7X is my first foray into GD.

GD is usually softer in flex compared to other companies but that that for what you want. VF and DI are the only GD shaft I’ve bought. I tired the UB in a fitting but hated it.

I tried it in both 5s and 5x in my Ping G430 LST. It’s a good shaft but not magic for me. I much preferred the Ventus TR Blue or the EvennFlow White T1100 that I currently play.

To me the VF still was more Graphite Design than Ventus or Mitsubishi White.
 

Something about the VF did not fit my swing. I have not gotten along with really any GD shaft and typically played Mitsubishi White or Aldila NV Green type shafts in the past so on paper the VF should have been a good fit but it did not work for me.

I have a positive AOA of 3-5* and SS of 105-107. Not a lot of lag in my swing so more like Stricker and less like Sergio so I can play Stiff or X.

I am same ss as you and went with the 6x. Have really enjoyed it. Hitting more fairways since the switch from ventus black.

Half inch.  VF and UB are very similar in tip stiffness, IMO.

VF launched 1-2* higher and spun about 300 rpm more than the TR Black.
