Just wondering...

What makes her getting an invite to join overdue and well deserved?

Not sure there is an argument for overdue. But the well deserved is pretty easy, she's one of the greatest female players of all time, possibly the GOAT, and she's been a strong ambassador for the game post retirement. The NCAA female player of the year is named after her. She hosts like 7 events and countless clinics all over the world. It's kind of hard to find somebody who is a bigger ambassador for the sport than she is.

Great for Anika and golf.

Looking forward to the thread, "Can Anika beat a vanity 4 cap who has been a member at ANGC for 20 years."

After seeing a few of her latest rounds, I’d say a 4 has a more than fair chance. I say this with all due respect of course 😊

She's totally sandbagging for the Governors Party tournament next month so she can let every kid at Drive Chip Putt know how bad a $$  she is.

Don't care about the politics surrounding it. Is just flat out a great choice. One of the best women that has every played the game. Fierce competitor, but always with utter class and elegance. And off the course, behind the scenes, has done as much for golf - especially women's golf - than anyone in recent history.

Weird, for the vast majority of golfers, an ANGC membership would be considered something that greatly enhances their status - its one of the most exclusive clubs on the planet. In this case, if anything, inviting Annika almost equally enhances that of the ANGC.

But the Masters is about great golfers.  ANGC is about their club.  They can invite whomever they choose, but Sorenstam is a complete "nobody" when looking at their membership roster in the grand scheme of things.  Past champions are not members(with the exception of Nicklaus if I'm not mistaken-he and Palmer got in but I believe well after their competitive peaks.)  They are "invited" to play in the tournament each year, and as such have access for practice, but members they are not.  Members are CEOs, presidents, senators, secretaries of (insert department).  Sorenstam is a golfer.

ANGC is their own club, and they can invite whomever they choose.  But a resume used to justify a hall of fame induction is irrelevant to whether someone "deserves" to be a member at ANGC.  Good for her for being invited to join, but "overdue" or "deserved" are not things that should describe the invite.  They aren't the golf hall of fame.

Who knows what their criteria is. I've never seen a full list that would help me make assumptions. This is the best list I've come across...

If Lynn Swann and Lou Holtz somehow justify an invite, Annika easily clears the bar.

I like her chances in case of ladies club championship.
(Does the guys have a club championship at AN?)

Condi isn’t giving up that parking spot without a fight.

She might be able to go low with the secret service forecaddying… and Annika might have some balls disappear
